Average customer review:Product Description
A collection of tracks previously available on 7-inch vinyl and compilations. This is the first time these songs are all available on CD. High Places songs contain a range of aural layers: bells and bird calls over a wash of ocean waves; mallets hitting mixing bowls over treated guitar and glockenspiel; reflective vocals over inventive and infectious beats. Look for the band on tour this summer with Deerhunter and No Age, along with an appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival.

Highs and Lows
Melodic and poppy sister to "Person Pitch"--gauzy, unpretentious, tribalistic echoing reverb--not quite as accomplished as Panda Bear's surprise masterpiece, but indebted to it; breezy, pretty, and fun. Not quite an album per se, but a small collection of singles, several of which were released strictly on 7" and are now included here for people who actually still have CD players and don't spend an excess amount of time in Brooklyn.
With non-existent packaging, a lack of a real standout single, and a 28 minute runtime, the record, at around $14 with tax/shipping is overpriced, and I felt a tad shorted. Marketing it as a $6.99 EP would have been a smarter (and fairer) move for the indie rock consumer.
