![]() | Who Can You Trust? by Morcheeba
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $2.45 This is my favorite Morcheeba album. Big Calm, their 2nd album, is usually the more popular one. But "Who Can You Trust" is much more laidback, downtempo, relaxing, & trippy for high times. Very reggae/soothing with amazing downtempo beats. Very soothing to the ear.
![]() | Big Calm by Morcheeba
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $2.91 Their 2nd album is good too. It is much warmer and vibrant than the first album, so it may not be the best for high times cause it can be a bit overpowering at times. But still a very enjoyable album with middle-eastern influences throughout.
![]() | Viva! La Woman by Cibo Matto
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $0.62 Very strange album. Most of the songs aren't appropriate for high times really. But 'Sugar Water' is such a classic stoner song, you should buy this album just for that song. 'White Pepper Ice Cream' & 'Theme' are also appropriate for high times.
![]() | Delights of the Garden by Desmond Williams
Buy used from: $2.70 Absolutely gorgeous album. Not alot of vocals, except for dub-styled vocals on a few songs. Very relaxing album in an acid jazz/chillout way. Definitely worthy of high times.
![]() | Luxury by Fantastic Plastic Machine
Buy used from: $1.78 This album is half-&-half. Some songs are upbeat, some songs are downtempo. But who says you can't enjoy some upbeat music when you're high?! The downtempo songs are amazing. Especially "Honolulu, Calcutta" and "Mr. Fantasy's Love". The upbeat songs are crazy fun and very warm to the ear, to not disturb the flow of high times. Get it!
![]() | LemonJelly.KY by Lemon Jelly
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $9.50 First off, I'm just gonna say all of Lemon Jelly's albums are appropriate for high times. So I'm not gonna go into a huge description for them all. All of their songs are usually 6+ minutes long and always include a positive/happy vibe to them. I love it. It makes you feel wonderful, and so alive.
![]() | Lost Horizons by Lemon Jelly
Buy new: $16.98 / Used from: $8.99 This is my personal favorite Lemon Jelly album, although I love them all to the extreme.
![]() | '64-'95 by Lemon Jelly
Buy new: $14.98 / Used from: $1.49 This one featured a darker vibe. Kinda different, but still very Lemon Jelly. Very good.
![]() | Minuit by Minus 8
Buy used from: $26.38 Absolutely the best chillout album I own. Every song is amazing and worthy of high times. It sounds more like a compilation album filled with the best chillout songs available than an actual album. Some of the songs just blow your mind with how soothing and beautiful they are.
![]() | Play by Moby
Buy used from: $0.31 Need I say more?
![]() | Pink Panther's Penthouse Party by Various Artists
Buy used from: $0.82 This is my favorite compilation album ever. All the songs are OUTSTANDING. Really one of the best collections of chillout music ever. My whole collection basically stemmed off this album. That's how I found out about all the amazing music out there.
![]() | Made in USA by Pizzicato Five
Buy new: $11.98 / Used from: $0.78 Similar to Cibo Matto, but much better. Highlights include "Magic Carpet Ride", "Sweet Soul Revue", & "Baby Love Child". Especially the first song mentioned. It really takes you to magical places. Amazing!
![]() | Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $8.99 Beautiful album. Very cool beats. Some of the songs are kinda meeeeh, but for the most part it is a good album.
![]() | Love Deluxe by Sade
Buy used from: $0.01 My favorite Sade album. Stunning album, I can't believe it was released in 1992. Sounds like it was made in 2009. Very good for love making while experiencing high times as well. Or cooking by yourself. :P
![]() | Angel Milk by Télépopmusik
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $9.21 I first found out about Telepopmusik by their song Breathe which was featured in car commercials in 2003. This album is beautifully produced with a very distinct and personal style of their own. "Anyway" is an absolutely amazing song. It makes me cry nearly every time I hear it.
![]() | Breathe by Télépopmusik
Buy used from: $6.00 Very good CD single. Check the song on youtube if you haven't heard it before. The remixes are great as well. Real treasure here.
![]() | Simple Things by Zero 7
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $9.75 Contains the classic "In The Waiting Line". I first learned about Zero 7 through the movie Garden State. Absolutely loved the song, and knew I had to get the album. "Polaris" is also featured in a Sex & the City episode when Carrie falls for the Russian on the street at the end of the episode. Very cool album. Downtempo and chilled.
![]() | When It Falls by Zero 7
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $6.80 Love this one too. Haven't listened to it as much as I have the other album as I just bought it, but it sounds equally good, if not better than the first album.
![]() | Blackout by Britney Spears
Buy new: $10.99 / Used from: $3.27 Not exactly downtempo or chilled, but a really fun/trippy album to listen to when you're high. I'm sure some of you are laughing at yourself right now thinking of listening to Britney while stoned, but this album is a real trip to hear when you're high. Very dark electro-pop with tons of voice effects and crazy sounds.
![]() | Body Language by Kylie Minogue
Buy used from: $0.01 First half of the album is really upbeat, but the 2nd half has some really cool stoner songs. "Someday" being the main one. "Loving Days" is pretty atmospheric too. An enjoyable album to listen to when high.
![]() | Fever by Kylie Minogue
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.40 This one is more appropriate for high times. A downtempo electronica pop album with some real gems.
![]() | Vespertine by Björk
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $1.00 STUNNING ALBUM. There's not much I can say about it, it's pretty indescribable. A very sleepy album with soft microbeats and amazing warmth (or coolness), it feels like both. Check it out.
![]() | Felt Mountain Revamped by Goldfrapp
Buy used from: $18.00 A very haunting album. I included the Revamped Edition because the bonus disc is just so outstanding. It almost beats the original disc in quality. It's a very soft album, but rather spooky and alone in a warm way. Very trippy.
![]() | Seventh Tree by Goldfrapp
Buy new: $13.99 / Used from: $4.24 All of Goldfrapp's albums are suitable to listen to during high times, but Felt Mountain and Seventh Tree are most appropriate. This one channels 70s psychedelia. Check out "Little Bird" (which sends you down a technicolor Alice In Wonderland whirlwind 3/4 through the song) and "Cologne Cerrone Houdini" which would make any hippie proud.
![]() | Dots and Loops by Stereolab
Buy new: $13.96 / Used from: $2.39 Check any Stereolab album out really. Very hippie and 60s inspired with moog and cool instruments to boost.
![]() | Enigma - Love Sensuality Devotion: The Greatest Hits by Enigma
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $4.47 New age music that is very spiritual and deep. Good beats too.
![]() | Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $2.75 Very cool experimental album that makes you feel like the master of the block (or something) Check out Demon Days too. Very stoner worthy. In fact, I'm pretty sure 3/4 of their sales were bought by stoners. :P
![]() | In Between Dreams by Jack Johnson
Buy new: $10.97 / Used from: $5.50 Hawaiian-styled acoustic guitar chill music about love and banana pancakes and sleeping in. Can't get much better than that! An amazing voice too. One of my favorites.
![]() | Morricone RMX by Various Artists
Buy new: $18.98 / Used from: $4.09 The classic music producer of the 60s' The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly's songs remixes by modern artists. A real trip, and a very cool premise at that! I love older music with a new modern twist.
![]() | Bali by Jalan Jalan
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $9.85 No words for this album. If there was any album you get from this list, I'd have to say to get this one. An all instrumental album, but all the songs are so uplifting and beautiful.. it just blows my mind. Firefly Sanctuary has saved me so many times when I had no hope left. AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING album.
![]() | Dandelion Gum by Black Moth Super Rainbow
Buy new: $13.98 / Used from: $5.48 Very cool 60s trippy music. Maybe this would be more appropriate for acid, but it is very weed worthy. Check it out.
![]() | Waltz for Koop by Koop
Buy new: $15.98 / Used from: $4.80 Got it just for the song "Waltz For Koop", which is the most heavenly song I've ever heard in my life. When me and my friends smoked and listened to that song, I swear we all went to heaven for a few minutes. Absolutely fantastic song.
![]() | Quiet Letters: U.S. Edition by Bliss
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $9.90 Very, very soft album. It's a very emotional album for me. Includes the song "Kissing" which is featured in the Sex & the City movie. Sample it, you'll see what I mean.
![]() | Untrue by Burial
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $13.09 This producer is a genius. I always think of an empty, abandoned catholic church with a lonely phantom playing the piano and random instruments in the dark with nothing but a ray of sunlight lighting the room through a crack in the old ceiling. Really trippy stuff.
![]() | Mezzanine by Massive Attack
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $4.74 The best electronica CD I own. Crazy beats and structure. Kinda dark, but not depressing. More intriguing. My favorites are Angel, Exchange, & Black Milk.
![]() | Maxinquaye by Tricky
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $0.64 Now this album, in comparison to Massive Attack's Mezzanine, is very depressing. But still a good trip by the stoner himself Tricky.
![]() | Kohala
Buy new: $16.99 / Used from: $3.82 Captures the sounds of the Hawaiian ocean. Really beautiful. Very stoner-y.
![]() | Comfort Woman by Me'Shell Ndegéocello
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $0.75 This is SO GOOD. It's very very very laidback and soulful warm. Like liquid honey in a glowing amber room, while the smoke with a voice comes creeping in, surrounding you and lifting you higher. "Come Smoke My Herb" is a highlight, obviously for this list.
![]() | Spacemonkeyz Vs. Gorillaz: Laika Come Home by Space Monkeyz Vs. Gorillaz
Buy new: $11.94 / Used from: $3.48 Sure, Gorillaz sounded original, but it was a pop project with all the constraints that went with it--can you imagine the six-minute remixed version of "Clint Eastwood" making it onto MTV? But that's exactly what makes Laika Come Home so good. It's a reimagined collection filled with bone-shaking dubscapes and enough reverb to transmit a message to the farthest edges of the universe.
![]() | Baduizm by Erykah Badu
Buy new: $8.99 / Used from: $2.89 The beats and bass are amazing. Soooooooooo relaxing and chill. And what a wonderful voice.
