Gone are the studio effects of their previous releases. Instead Jeff and co. channel the 70s Eagles into 2007 form and produce their most complete rock album ever. Every guitar riff is beautifully orchestrated and makes me want to buy a Volvo.

What do you get when you mix the Beatles, David Bowie, Daft Punk, and Prince into one band and play it in an 80s rollerskate rink? One of 2007's best albums. Trippy poppy fun.

Arcade Fire has been at the top or near the top of every critics list this year. Personally I think its because most critics are embarrassed they missed the boat on "Funeral". Every song on here sounds like it could have been a "B" side to any song on "Funeral". Yet "B" side material for Arcade Fire is still better than 99% of the music out there.

You take any song off this album and you would think it was one of the best songs of the year. But after the amazing "Alligator" you keep waiting for a climax the album never delivers. If I had to rank an album on its collection of songs this would be #1, as a whole album listened to from beginning to end it only makes the top 10.
