If you want an adequate replacement earbud, go with these. I wouldn't suggest an earbud at all, but if you like them, go with these as they sound a bit better than stock earbuds.
Sennheiser HD201 HeadphonesSennheiser HD201 Headphones
Buy new: $19.36 / Used from: $18.00
For about twenty to thirty dollars, you can't go wrong with these. They sound quite good for a pair of inexpensive sealed cans. They are punchy and make a great gift headphone. I'd buy one or two for myself!
Sennheiser PX 100 Collapsible HeadphonesSennheiser PX 100 Collapsible Headphones
Buy new: $38.96 / Used from: $58.88
These are a pretty good value. They are warm, punchy, and have a great bass. Some people say that they sound a bit muddy but they sound alright to me. I have since moved on to bigger and better things, but I use them once in a while for old time's sake. I feel that they will please most people. If you can, give them a try because you'll probably like them!
Grado Prestige Series SR-60i Padded HeadphonesGrado Prestige Series SR-60i Padded Headphones
Buy new: $79.00 / Used from: $67.77
The Grado SR60 is a nice step up from the K26p and the px100. These are a famous pair of headphones and have been around for quite a while, as the styling isn't exactly exquisite. However, in the world of high end audio, it's all about the sound! These cans know how to produce fine quality, affordable audio and are fairly compact. They're nice!
Sennheiser HD-555 Audiophile HeadphonesSennheiser HD-555 Audiophile Headphones
Buy new: $95.65 / Used from: $68.00
The Sennheiser HD 555 are quite the performers for their price. They are open-backed cans and sound very fine indeed. They have pretty acceptable highs and midrange, and a recessed, but good enough bass. The bass can be improved with a headphone amplifier such as the Total Airhead. These are excellent though, for portable home theater, such as through a portable DVD player.
Sennheiser HD580 Stereo HiFi Professional HeadphonesSennheiser HD580 Stereo HiFi Professional Headphones
Ahh..The HD580. This is a nice open-backed headphone that has been around for quite a while. They sound great for pretty much all genres of music, but really shine in the classical area, which is what they were originally made for. They have a high and inefficient 300 ohm impedence rating, however. Although not required, a headphone amplifier would be the proper way to drive these cans.
Sennheiser HD-595 Premier HeadphoneSennheiser HD-595 Premier Headphone
Buy new: $169.00
I own these and highly enjoy the beautiful quality sound that they produce. They have warm highs, a fat midrange, and a good enough bass. These are a bit more expensive with a retail value of $289.95, but can be found on Amazon for less. I use them through a Total Airhead amplifier and that greatly improves them. They're great alone, but the amp does it! A great choice for anyone!
Sennheiser HD650 Audiophile Open Dynamic Stereo HeadphoneSennheiser HD650 Audiophile Open Dynamic Stereo Headphone
Buy new: $379.95 / Used from: $330.00
The HD650 is one incredible headphone. These, and their brother, HD600, are very well balanced and produce a very high degree of musical detail. The HD600 and HD650 are the older brothers of the HD580 and were also built for classical music. They will do well with any type of music, though! If you have the money and want the best, go for it! You WILL NOT regret it!
