Average customer review:Product Description
For all the facets of this album, the heat of soul music burns at its core. Features Foster originals and covers of O. V. Wright, Ann Peebles, and Patti Griffin. Contains the hard-edged blues of guitar icon Robben Ford (Yellowjackets, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell), the Memphis magic conjured by keyboardist Jim Dickinson (Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin) and organist (Charles Hodges (Al Green, Ann Peebles), the rock steady rhythm anchor of bassist Larry Fulcher (Taj Mahal, Los Super Seven) and drummer Rock Deadrick (Tracy Chapman, Ben Harper). The legendary Memphis Horns add a distinctive coup de grace.

Thanks for the joy and thanks for Ruthie Foster
I heard Ruthie Foster at BB Kings Club in NYC and bought her new cd afterwards. Wow! My personal favorite is I Really Love you. She rocked on this one during the show and it really comes through on the cd too. Truth and Joy. That's what she gives us. Thank you Ruthie!
This Record Rocks!
I love this record! I love the groove on "Stone Love" and her amazing
version of Patty Griffin's "When It Don't Come Easy." This is a perfect
combination of blues, gospel and soul music, and has become the best
album I've bought in a long time.
RUTHIE FOSTER IS THE TRUTH!
I saw Ruthie Foster here in Atlanta for the first time a few months ago and she was PHENOMENAL!
I brought "The Truth According To Ruthie Foster" a few days ago and I can't stop playing it.
My favorite song is "When It Don't Come Easy" (you can hear the soulful truth in her voice).
I would highly recommend this album to anyone that loves real music
