Another excellent book by author
This is the 3rd book by Barbara Jennings that I have purchased and it is excellent. I had no idea there were so many skills that I have developed over the years that I was unaware I could use to create a very impressive resume for myself. Her techniques for getting appointments with key individuals is clever. I especially like the use of stories to promote one's business and other practical tips she shares. Her whole series of books should be in everyone's library.

Helps you pull it all together
You wouldn't think so much thought should go into creating a portfolio for show and tell. You can tell Jennings is a genuine teacher because she really gives the full scope and walks you step by step in her easy going writing style. Even down to showing you what works and what doesn't with photographs. I wasn't expecting that. It's not only a complete and thorough resume developer, it helps you create a really polished presentation and teaches you how to use your portfolio to get clients.

One of the keys apparently to developing a portfolio successfully is to know exactly how you are different from anyone else out there. I can see that by thoroughly understanding my own talents from her broad talent list, that it is then easy to pull it all together and highlight what makes me really special and different from anybody else. I have struggled with this in the past. Her ideas on networking take a lot of the guesswork and stress out of the process.

There are also some great forms for consultations, not just for the portfolio. This is a really good book.
