Customer Reviews
Well, its sorta Bumblebee
Having purchased this early, I must say I want to like this figure. Considering that because of VW's stubbornness this could not be a Bug but instead a Camaro, it's not bad, although I would have appreciated some typical Bumblebee horns.
In robot mode, it has some stability problems, but I've seen worse. In car mode, it nice. [...] But even afterwards, I still haven't been able to totally transform it back to car as the front of the Camaro won't stay put; it keeps flopping down. Just the initial transformation was worrisome; I kept thinking I am about to break the toy, and now when I want to turn it back to car, it won't go back in position.
If you like Bumblebee, you'll probably want him, but he's more for a collector to have on his shelf than for a kid to actually play with.
Warning: Your may have a Factory Defect
I have been browsing round the internet and have spotted many websites where people are warning others about a factory defect that will break this toy. The Automorph feature of this toy has a tab that is the wrong thickness and will break off, preventing Bumblebee from transforming back. Hasbro has been producing a second version of Bumblebee, with the tab corrected but nobody is certain when it will be in stores.
Wanted to make sure people knew about this before they get mad or have to deal with a disappointed child.
Bumblebee front hood problem in car mode?? Try this.....
We also had the problem with the hood not clicking into place when going from robot to car mode. My husband noticed that underneath the "emblem" piece, (under the car) is a little yellow piece under the driver's side that had to be in just the right the place for the front hood to hold. He just slightly over-extended the front hood & watched this little piece move right into place. This keeps the front in place & is only under the driver's side.
How in the world are kids supposed to transform this toy when we couldn't even do it?
Hope this little trick helps you all.. Autobots Roll Out!!!
