Customer Reviews

well-designed for making the switch to bottled ink (no more catridges!)5
I have a Lamy Safari and a Lamy Joy (both in the colored, plastic versions---not clear or aluminum). I got this converter so I could eliminate the waste of disposable, plastic cartridges and use the bottled ink of my choice in my pens. This converter has good capacity (refill frequency varies, of course, with ink, nib, paper, and writing habits) and a long knob with two flats that's easy to twist for refilling. The body is clear and makes it easy to see how much ink is left through the windows in the pen body of the Safari and Joy. With practice, I can now fill the converter with one hand, holding the converter body between my pinky and ring fingers and twist the plunger knob with my thumb and pointer finger. This leaves my other hand free to tip the ink bottle, if necessary. I've been using one of these converters for years, and they seem to last fine. It's a simple device, but I can think of worse designs.

If you don't have the same pens as I do, see the Lamy site to see if the Z24 works with your Lamy.

Opinions and advice on Lamy refill converters5
I love this product; I use it with quick-drying Rapidograph ink (meant for film, but I use it for writing in my journal because others do not dry fast enough). It's easy to clean (I use Rapido-ease).

I did not buy mine here, however. While other reviews revealed obscene shipping charges; I started a transaction to see for myself. Since shipping charges weren't straightforward and wouldn't be revealed until the end (after giving them all my information), I canceled it. Yes, I could have e-mailed them, however with a product so inexpensive I decided to trust other reviewers over waiting for a response from the company. Later that day, I found a local art supply store and was able to purchase the converter for less than five dollars. Thus, my recommendation is to check out local stores, other websites, and/or e-mail this Amazon supplier before purchasing here.

Very durable!5
I've had this converter for my Lamy Safari - in perpetual use - for nine years, and it's still going strong. Doesn't leak or anything, and there's something nice about refilling your own pen. If you've got a Lamy, I'd definitely recommend getting this to go with it.
