Product Description
"Etiquette is the difference between stable manners and table manners."
- Texas Bix Bender Yessir, that's cowboy etiquette! Cowboy Etiquette is a little ol' book that packs a big wallop, as it cleverly guides cowboys on keeping their cool in any situation, from the saddle to the steakhouse. Despite their rough-and-tumble life, cowboys just might be the friendliest and most mannerly bunch of guys around. Cowboy Etiquette reveals, though, that etiquette is more than just knowing when to say "yes ma'am" and "no sir"; it's about harkening back to a basic gentility of manner that we sorely miss today. Afraid of stuffy etiquette rules? Try etiquette the cowboy way; Texas Bix Bender makes etiquette as easy as pecan pie! Texas Bix Bender is the best-selling author of the Don't Squat with Yer Spurs on! series and writes for Riders Radio Theater. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

COWBOY ETIQUETTE
For Miss Manners, 'cause nobody's perfect.
1. Etiquette is the difference between stable manners and table manners.
2. Good etiquette starts with a smile.
3. No matter the circumstances and no matter who you're with at the time you should still be sociable and comport yourself in a tolerant friendly manner. In other words, keep your boarding house reach in check and don't dribble on your boots.
4. There's a lot of greeting that go with a handshake. A lot of folks nowadays are saying, "What's up?" or "How you doing?" or "How's it going?" I don't know if you noticed or not, but all these are question. Prying into other people's affairs right out of the box is not exactly the most polite way to say howdy. The proper cowboy etiquette here is to be aware of where the sun is before you speak and follow that handshake with a simple one word greeting of "Morning," "Afternoon," or "Evening."
5. Raising the toilet seat is always the right thing to do. And, don't forget to set it back down when you're done. And, in all fairness, cowgirls should raise it up when they get done. This way it's nearly always wrong when you get there, but good etiquette requires everybody to be fair.
