poorly done
I learned some things from this software, but it was very poorly done, perhaps by someone with minimal knowledge of English, no knowledge of German, and a rudimentary dictionary. German nouns are not always given with the article (e.g., Lachs, Eis, Pasta). No genitive or plural forms are shown. The same "card" is repeated in different sections, inflating the count. (harbor = der Hafen occurs in three sections). Often the English word could be a noun or verb, so the student doesn't know which German definiton to guess (e.g., Drink = trinken, but it could have been das Getraenk). Some definitions are ludicrously wrong. In the section "Weather", Ice = die Eiswuerfel, which is really "ice-cubes").
The software is poorly written, requiring one to move the mouse long distances and click to check an answer, advance to the next card, etc. For someone who wants to move fast, it would be much easier to allow keyboard shortcuts, like F to flip a card, forward arrow to advance, backward arrow to go back, etc.

CLASSROOM AID -- Liked the software.
My students love them. We use them in class for group study and a jeopardy/trivia game. They're good review before finals and good preview for upcoming lessons. Exambusters cover the basics in an unconfusing format. In our learning center, we use the software. It's easy to figure out. Just click around and all the functions are clear. Students can remove cards they know or don't need from a virtual stack of cards, the same as if they had index cards printed. The screensaver helped with vocabulary study especially. The computer test was different each time and no matter how many times it was taken. There are three lengths to choose from, quiz, mid-term, and final.

USED CARDS WITH ALL MY CHILDREN
Helpful to my four children in junior high and high school. They have most courses and also the tests like SAT, SSAT, AP. Easy to use and fun (which is saying a lot when your kid would rather be out with friends than studying!)
