I truly believe that after reading this book, you will immediately come away with a better sense of yourself (as a horseplayer), and will soon realize where exactly it is you want to be as a horseplayer. Or, you might have a wonderful epiphany and realize that maybe you too can become a more successful horseplayer. Maybe, a "professional"! I must admit that if you're taking yourself at all seriously, you are also going to need my newest horse handicapping book... "The Tuttle Way". It's a bit more advanced, and it can only help further your development as a Horseplayer.

Almost 20k in wordage packed into 100+ pages 5stars indeed!
I'm a little new to the Internet, but I've placed reviews on ALL the books that I own ever since I was taught how, which was today (July 8th 2008). I became a horseplayer only about a month ago. I must say the this 38 yr-old vanity writer (Joseph J Tuttle) has impressed me the most! I own all of his book but two. I'm waiting another month to buy the football book, and then, I'll basically own then all. I've done some extensive research on this young man, and he is truly a remarkable person. He was born with CP of his left hand/arm and to have the ability to capture such intelligent thought onto the printed page is 100% STUNNING! As my title says....this little book pack a punch and is extremely insightful. If you want something that is a quick read and only about 11 or 12k in wordage (and only 100+ total pages too), then I'd HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Tuttle Way 1 and 2....or his newest release "Three-n-one" which includes a short story about his trainer Father, I also own.

The Tuttle Way is better but this one is REALLLY GOOD!
I've read a lot of the horse handicapping books here on Amazon and must say most of the books are the "same old read", but you can tell this Author a real gambler himself and a definate outside the box type of thinker. Do I think all the methods in this book are good? NO, but it's nice to get an "outside the box" type of view whether you agree or disagree with the theories.

I found this book to be extremely informative on many different levels. I purchased this book along with "The Tuttle Way", and I must say: The "Angles" chapter in The Ultimate Guide, and the use of Sabermetrics as an advanced way to determine actual "class" of each individual horse is absolutely 100% pure genius!!!!! A year ago I didn't know anything about handicapping. Now, I feel as though I'm on my way to greatness. I've already entered (and done quite well I might add) a few handicapping contests and I can honestly attribute all of my recent successes to Mr. Joseph J Tuttle. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!!
