Customer Reviews
You Get What You Pay For
To get right down to the point:
Pros:
- Takes about 10-15 seconds to get it on.
- Perfect material against scratches/dust/dirt/stains/etc.
- You just can't beat this price.
- Definitely makes the phone much more stylish.
- Material seems to not be so prone to wearing/tearing/stretching.
Cons:
- It's not nearly as good of a fit (snug) as I'd prefer.
- You have to take it out every time you need to take out the SIM or battery. Although it takes about 10 seconds to get it on, it can also be a real hassle if you need to do this often.
- Also, it produces A LOT of friction and a real hassle if you're going to be taking it in and out of tight jeans/pants often. I bought a belt-clip (PREMIUM BLACK HORIZONTAL LEATHER CASE) specifically to avoid this problem. (on a side note I would definitely recommend that clip, it's VERY convenient making the Palm always readily accessible.)
Overall: Taking into account the price and it's ability to keep the Palm clean and safe, it would be perfect if it weren't for that major problem of it not being snug enough that any friction caused it to shift. Simply: If you buy the clip, I highly recommend this product (esp. for this price ). Without the clip, this is very inconvenient, so I would not recommend it.
Serves its purpose well for little $
I was a little nervous buying this Centro case after reading the reviews, but I figured $5 (including shipping) was worth the gamble.
The case I received had a really strong odor (like diesel fuel?) when I opened the package. Thankfully, the odor somehow disappeared after a few days.
Unlike the picture on Amazon, the silicon case covers the middle row of keys (call, end, phone, menu, calendar, message and 5-way toggle buttons). There are raised icons for each on the case so you can see what you are pressing.
The case fits snug enough for me. It is well cut and doesn't cover anything important (i.e. microphone, speaker, camera lens, stylus, bluetooth, or silence button). The side volume buttons (and the one below it) are covered, but the case is raised where these buttons are.
On the back of the case, there are raised "tire tread marks" on the sides, for grip, I guess?
All in all, I am pleased with this inexpensive purchase. I don't feel like I have to be so careful with my Centro with this cover protecting it.
Not as bad as I thought...
After reading the other reviews, I still decided to purchase the item just to hold me over. The case isn't anything spectacular but it definitely serves its purpose. I didn't find my case to be as loose as the other reviewers had mentioned and I haven't had any difficulties with it covering up the mouthpiece, any buttons or anything else. If you need something as a temporary fix it's definitely worth it.
