Product Description

His girlfriend has left him. His apartment manager has evicted him. He's just embezzled 20,000 dollars to pay off a bookie. What better reason to start celebrating? Faced with having nothing left to lose, but everything to learn about himself, High Card Lowe follows a frantic week in the life of Cameron Lowe, a good-looking, intelligent, would-be successful young college graduate who must come to terms with the price of his reckless self indulgences before it's too late.

About the Author
Matt DeVaney, a Tucson, Arizona resident, has been putting his creative energies into writing since elementary school. Now a world traveler, Matt has had the opportunity to study human nature and behavior in various languages and arenas, and brings this insight to his novels.

His unique ability to open the doors to a young man's thoughts and emotions, and allow us the vision through our tears and unavoidable laughter makes reading "High Card Lowe" an enjoyable and provocative experience.

He is currently at work on his next novel Absence of Humanity.

Customer Reviews

Fresh and Funny5
What a fun and insightful novel! - Mr. DeVaney does a wonderful job drawing on past experiences and adding lots of local valley flavor. The dialogue is almost as funny as Cameron Lowe's inner thoughts, ranging from neurotic, to pitiful, to hysterical!
You have to read this just to see the name of the cat, and the story behind "La Carte de La Work of Art," not to mention some great characters like the Turglet, Reggie and Stricklan.
I anxiously await his next project!
