Perfect croppin' sidekick
It's short and sweet but packed full of creative sketches (hence the name) that anyone can scraplift for their own pages. It's well organized by # of photos and has a collection of all the skteches in mini form in the back (serving as an excellent index). It's paperback and not too large, so it fits nicely into your crop back for quick reference anytime. Happy Cropping!
The only idea book that's been work the money
When I first started scrapbooking, I went out and bought two or three idea books. Well, I quickly found that I never really used them. That's not the case with these!
I'm a graphic designer by profession, so I'm picky. I love that these books give you something more like a customizable template than a page to copy. So many books rely heavily on the trendiest of techniques to sell themselves; come the next trend, they're worthless and dated. And what if you don't actually LIKE the latest trend? It's not a problem with the Creative Sketches! Since Becky Higgins gives you page planning recipes, you can adjust them to fit your style and your photos, easily and effortlessly.
I don't use this book and volume 2 for all my pages, but I have a tendency to overplan. I'm a perfectionist; without these books, I would NEVER be able to sit down and get multiple spreads done in an afternoon. With Creative Sketches, I can save my energy for my really special pages. And I have never regretted buying THESE scrapbook idea books; that's the true test.
Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking
If there is one book you ever buy for scrapbooking, this is the book. It is nothing short of incredible. It is organized by the number of photos that you would like to group and then it helps you arrange them. It works alot with color and paper designs. It introduces you to "sketching" your ideas so you can have a better plan before you sit down at a crop.
I have been "borrowing" this book from friends at crop parties for months, and I am so thrilled to finally have my own copy. It may be worth your money to buy the spiral bound version. Your really can't find a better book.
