La Cross #71936 Tweezer Comfort Slant Tip
We own several brands/models of tweezers, but this is the one we always reach for. We've been using these for at least 10 years. I do woodworking and home construction, and occasionally get wood splinters in my fingers. If there's any part of a splinter that's exposed, even if it's minuscule, these excellent tweezers will grab hold of it for extraction. Other tweezers we've tried, do poorly at that basic task. The reason these hold so well is the excellent tip design and tool manufacture; i.e., the squared-off end comes together tightly with no air gap whatever. What prompted this review, is that we're going to order a couple more of these. Highly recommended.
Top number 1 or 2 tweezer
This is one of my two favorite tweezers. The other favorite has real gold on the tips, but costs 2-3 times as much and does not have a wide grip area. The red spot on these tweezers is a grip area, which is wider and more comfortable than other tweezers.
I agree with the review from remodeling-guy. Unlike him, however, I use the tweezers most often for eyebrow hairs, and seldom for splinters. As a woman with thick caterpillar eyebrows, I have tried many tweezers, mostly unsatisfactory ones, over the years. I still wish for magic tweezers that always grab a slippery, thin, tiny, short eyebrow on the first try and never slip. I haven't found those magic tweezers yet, but these come close.
This is a decent brand. La Cross seems to be part of the same corporation as Sally Hansen, and is well known among many retailers of toiletries and cosmetics, for decent quality at reasonable price. By the way, tweezers seem to last best if I can keep everyone in the house from using them as pliers.
