Product Description

Middle school is all about change. In the opening section, girls take a quiz to determine how they respond to change, then receive tips on how to cope with the big changes that they’re getting ready to face as they start middle school- switching classes, getting up earlier, and having their own lockers, all while learning to manage a new school, new teachers, new friends, and LOTS more homework and activities! The secret to feeling more confident as she starts middle school is having a little insight into what to expect. This book provides that information as well as "Smart Girl’s tips" from girls who have already made the grade in the big school.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal
Grade 5-8–The colorful cartoons attempt to offset the dry content of this book. The advice that it imparts is common sense and most girls will already know what it has to tell them. A few interesting checklists and articles are included, as is a rather scary listing of the four types of teachers that might leave readers wondering if there are any good instructors in middle school. Discussions of safety issues and the library do not appear. This title is likely to be a shelf-sitter.–Kim Donius, Alfred-Almond Central School, Almond, NY

Daughter loves this book!5
My daughter is entering Middle School this year. She is 10 years old and she and her friends love this book and have read it several times!

Thoroughly Enjoyable5
I got this book for my niece who was a little nervous about starting middle school. We both read it and I thought it had plenty of good information and tips. I think it also helped with some of her nervousness.

A Must for Fifth Grade Girls5
I bought this for a grand daughter who'ss getting ready for middle school next year. She's been 'freaking out' over the significant changes in middle school.

I haven't read the entire book but I've skimmed it enough to see that it will be a life saver for her, and I highly recommend it for anyone who has a girl leaving the comfort of elementary school.
