Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com Product Description
As functional as it is decorative, this oversized, nicely absorbent terry dish towel from Calphalon is great to have around for drying dishes and carrying hot pots from stove to counter. This stylish towel will also add a bit of visual flair to your kitchen as well with its solidly colored, large-scale checked pattern. It's made from 100 percent soft, combed cotton and it features terry loops on either side for added absorbency. It's been treated with an anti-microbial agent that will inhibit the growth of bacterial odors and extend its life by controlling deterioration caused by mildew. It comes pre-washed in a variety of yarn-dyed colors. For care, machine wash on cold with like colors (no bleach), then tumble dry on low. Do not use fabric softeners, as they leave behind a chemical residue that will inhibit absorbency.
Customer Reviews
Horrible
As others have said, these towels do not dry dishes or pots and pans--they just kind of smear the water around. They seem to work well enough on hands, though. Also, I had to wash and dry them many times to get rid of the fuzz they were leaving on clean dishes. They're not worth the hassle. And I bought eight at the higher price! I got my old towels out of the basement closet again. I'll use them while the search continues.
Sturdy
The dishcloth is quite sturdy and will probably last forever but...it's difficult to rinse and keep clean. I wipe down the counter and everything sticks to it and won't rinse off. I don't know how most people are but I like to use my dish cloth more than once and these never really seem clean. I used them right away and they bled a little in hot water but I put them through the wash and nothing was stained so no worries there. I'm just not real thrilled with them and would be happier if Amazon carried the Cannon or KitchenAid dishcloths.
They don't absorb water!!!!
I liked the color selection and the attached loop to hang them with. But these towels do not absorb water to any practical degree. I cannot recommend them to anyone, as they cannot perform their primary purpose.
