Inspiring. Educational. Intelligent. Honest. Excellent.
This book is a collection of diverse stories written by people who have changed their gender. People who felt misplaced in their bodies at an early age and were determined to change the visual to match the essential or mental aspect of how they identify in relation to gender. With that said, quite simply, this book is about love, sex, relationships, human emotion-- having the courage to accept who you are, whether it be a gay man who was born biologically female and changed to male who talks about his Beloved Leather Daddy, a straight man who changed from female to male, who's' obsessed with touching a penis and shares this desire with his wife, who encourages him to do so, a lesbian woman who was born biologically male and changed as well, who talks about the special person in her life, their relationship described as: "one of the great love stories for the ages," to a variety of personalities and voices relaying their stories to the reader in sometimes very intimate ways. The thing is, this is not a cheesy collection; these stories are well-written and interesting; raw, honest, intellectual, alluring, provocative, rebellious, insightful, clever, and ultimately real. What I liked about this book is how different each story is-- how each unfolds in its unique way, and the open minds-- the editors-- who chose a collection that really hits on issues not often discussed. I love this book. It's really good and you'll remember these stories, the way you remember a good movie that really hits you, that leaves an impact on you that's not easily forgotten.
A pretty interesting read.
Great personal stories. Some I could relate to a few I didn't. But well worth the time reading. Most stories had an erotic element, but there is also an emotionally intimate side to the majority of them.
I'm a little biased but this is a good collection of people's stories
Let me start off by saying that I am a contributor to this book so I do have a bias. However, I believe that the editors did a wonderful job of capturing the different types of relationships that transgender folks have in the world. This is a good book to share with people to help educate them on the relationships that we have. Sometimes it's more enlightening for people to read stories written by transgender people themselves. If you are looking for an interesting set of stories then I would definately get this book. I'm happy to share my story with you.
