Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Outdoor chefs who prefer grilling the traditional way will find this chimney starter system invaluable. No more waiting around while the charcoal slowly heats up--the chimney's durable aluminized-steel cylinder causes the flames to ignite each briquette quickly and evenly. To get things fired up, simply fill the chimney with briquettes, place crumpled newspaper or Weber Firestarters under the cylinder, and set in a kettle-style grill. A touch of a match through the holes at the bottom starts the fire, and within minutes the grill's ready to cook up burgers, hot dogs, or whatever's on the menu. The chimney starter offers an extra-large capacity that can hold enough briquettes for a 22-1/2-inch kettle grill, and its double thermoplastic handle extends outward from a mounted panel to keep hands away from heat. For use on a grill or grate only, the chimney starter measures 7-1/2 by 7-1/2 by 12 inches.
From the Manufacturer
Weber's chimney starter makes starting your charcoal a snap. It also cuts down the amount of time it takes for the coals to get ready. Just load up our extra large cannister full of coals, light up a fire starter or crinkled up newspaper, and set the cannister over the flame. In a matter of minutes the coals will be red hot. Who ever thought it could be so easy?
Customer Reviews
Another winner from Weber
I have used generic chimney starters in the past, and, while they worked, they were also awkward and slow to get going. On the Weber 7416, the convex wire base, ample vent holes, and extremely comfortable double handle make this unit work perfectly. Two sheets of newspaper, given a quick spray with Pam, then crumpled, will have you ready to cook in less than 20 minutes. This is a great product, period!
perfect
Does the job. It's bigger than my last one; which is good because I can use a little or a lot of charcoal depending on my needs. My lighter won't fit through the slots around the bottom but that's not really a problem. I just lean the can over and light the paper. That second handle comes in handy especially if I fill the can up. It makes it easier to pour out and makes it easier for me to spread the charcoal.
Amazingly simple, fantastic product
I love this product. It really does work as advertised and reviewed by hundreds of others. Great product. It anything ever happens to the one I have I will definately be getting another one.
