Editorial Reviews
Review
"This amazing novel marks an apotheosis in the literary cosmos. It presents sublime, deeply sympathetic answers to all of the questions and problems that beset mankind in our search for happiness and fulfilment. It is a consummate masterpiece that will not be surpassed in this millennium." Frasier Crane, Seattle Analyst
"Walter Minion's Therapy sets before us the ultimate paradigm for all human relationships, endeavours, organisations and governments, within a brilliantly original and deeply moving adventure story. Wonderfully evocative and poetic writing illuminates every page. ...a masterpiece that will not be surpassed, ever." Lisa Simpson, Springfield Gazette
"In its grandeur, scope and sheer brilliance it is in a class of its own. The descriptions of the sea, and of the struggle of two of the most original and inspiring characters ever to appear in literature to survive its terrors beats anything written by Herman Melville, C.S. Forrester, Patrick O'Brian or anyone else. It is an all-surpassing masterpiece." Padraig Maturin, Blarneig Eireann
"Incomparably the greatest love story ever told. It deserves the genius of the new millennium's equivalent of a Verdi, a Puccini or a Beethoven to enshrine it within a grand opera for worship by generations to come. Until then a movie should earn an Oscar or two." Pat O'Flannery, Tide
"The ultimate erotic fantasy. An epic of overwhelming pulling power. By comparison the Karma Sutra is frigid and Viagra wilts. Its vivid but subtle sexual imagery, as a man and a woman explore the oceans of mutual discovery, provides a hyper-orgasmic experience that goes far beyond any conventional physical sensations in terms of satisfaction, fulfilment and heavenly transport." Barbarella Climax, Playperson
"At last, the oldies' answer to Harry Potter. Millions of 'muggles' will be delighted that the prequel, and the sequel, are nigh." Mrs. Dursley, Saga Monthly

Move over Mr. Hemmingway
Walter Minion gets the best diagnosis and subsequent therapy a man could imagine. He goes on a 'round the world cruse with an unbelievability beautiful woman, a sturdy ship, and many thrilling encounters. He manages to slip out from one tangle and sails into another, only to find new delights and troubling circumstances again and again. His shipmate, Spray Wild, makes the Pussy Galores of Ian Flemmings world seem tame. She's beautiful, athletic, warm, caring and grows to be a great friend. She's tough when the going gets rough, and can sail a small ship like an old sea captain. You'll not fail to love her yourself.
You'll learn that Walter Minion is not really crazy after all, just disappointed in many things. He'll tell you about them as you sail along. His seagoing encounters can come only from a seasoned sailor who has been there, slipping back down a huge wave, only to recover and get tossed in all directions. The descriptions and the details are so clear, not much imagination is needed to be right there.
Walter ends this escapade in a way that certainly develops a great opportunity for more adventure. I can't wait for more.
Therapy for the reader too!
Walter's retirement leads to mental breakdown. His prescribed therapy is to sail around the world in a yacht called Therapy.
As he leaves harbor, he observes his wife walking away on the arm of his psychiatrist. On his weird and wonderful voyage he has some fantastic adventures, is joined by a mysterious, beautiful siren and is boarded by pirates. There are massive highs and lows along the way and twists right up to the end. This is pure fiction, as every part of the story is totally unbelievable, yet the reader is captured by the spirit and begins to wish that it were reality. By the end of the book, we are left wondering, "Was it real, or was it all just a dream?" A brilliantly unique read, and the pace makes it very easy to relax into. Great therapy!
And if you like this one, you'll LOVE Pat O'Connor's second novel, which, characteristically of Walter himself, is actually the prequel to the first! The title: "Walter Minion's Secret Life."
