Product Description

Serve your favorite Cabernet, Merlot, Bordeaux or red wine in these glasses. They come in a set of six and are made of Tritan crystal that is resistant to chipping and breaking - you won't even have to worry about your clumsiest guest!Schott Zwiesel (a brand of Zwiesel Kristallglas, AG) has a 130 year history of innovation and success, including such break through developments as the first machine made stemware and the first lead-free crystal glass. With the introduction of the proprietary Tritan?? Crystal technique (the result of special additives such as titanium with a unique tempering process) Zwiesel has once again revolutionized the industry. Rigorous laboratory testing proves the brilliance, dishwasher safety, and break resistance of Tritan. Highly resistant to chipping and breaking even at its most sensitive areas - the rim and at the points where the stem joins the bowl and the foot. The glasses stand up to daily use and thousands of cycles in your dishwasher, without any blemishes or loss of brilliance.

Amazing!5
I am a wineglass snob. I thought Riedels were the best to have but I bought these from a wineshop after the owner took 2 glasses and banged them together. I was suprised when there wasn't broken glass on the floor. I have broken many of my nice Riedels and it costs a pretty penny to constantly replace. These have been absolutely the best for boating because they aren't fragile like Riedels and can handle being knocked over without cracking. These glasses are still large enough that I can easily swirl my wine. It does make a difference what type of glass you serve your wine in. I don't notice a difference in taste between these and my Riedels. The stem is about a half inch higher than Riedel Bordeaux glasses. When these 2 are placed side by side the Schotts stand over an inch and a half taller over the Riedels. Give these a try. You can impress your friends and save some money in the long term.

Not unbreakable, but better than Riedel4
Compared to the ultra-breakable Riedels, these glasses are truly great. We "clanged" them side to side and they resonate like a tuning fork. We've had them fall (full of wine) on their side with no breaks. Only broke one that caught an edge. No scratches in nearly 8 months of nightly use!

Can't wait to drop one......5
Have the Riedel glass ware and already have a 'nick' in rim of one costing about $12 each....knew that day would happen and just chalked it up to 'doing business'.
ENTER TRITAN:
PROS:
- it truly is no different than Riedel glass ware
- HOLDS UP TO DISHWASHER
- HOLDS UP TO CASUAL SMACKING!!!!! [ YES I've tried banging it on the granit counter to show people...IMPRESSIVE] !!!!!
- ALL the above = the only reason to NEVER buy a Riedel or other stemware of Lead Glass again.
CONS:
- CANNOT HOLD UP TO A HAMMER: FINALLY Broke one last night: done when wife dropped glass in sink and stem fell across a fry pan handle...bizzare. BUT would buy again over Riedels NO Question.
