Biblical Revelation's best intelligible exposition
Dr. Arnold Fruchtenbaum exposes the events of the book of Revelation in the best possible way. While others come to conclusions drawn from personal experience, Zeitgeist, or current events, this book is based on bible prophecy from both the OT and the NT with focus on the last things as stated in the book of Revelation. Fruchtenbaum's cultural, educational, and spiritual background enables the reader to learn beyond closely limited horizons. The author also introduces other Bible scholar's views and profoundly illustrates on the basis of the Bible why certain contemporary ideas don't match the teaching of God's word.
Bible prophecy is explained in a soul-touching way which will leave the honest Christian reader not unchanged. It is an eye-opener for the unchanging love and character of our Creator God, enabling the reader to get a better understanding about the manifold prophecies of the OT and NT about Him and His purposes for mankind. The book draws not from current events or even from sesationalist ideas but from God's message to mankind. Don't be scared about the thickness of this book - my interest grew with each chapter I read. One could call it "meat for the mind". It proves also to be a great encouragement for the soul, resulting in a deeper love of God and higher appreciation of His word. Don't miss it.
Special thanks to the teacher, Dr. Fruchtenbaum!
The Best I Know Of
The best commentary on Revelation and prophetic events I know of. Literal, comprehensive, scholarly, yet easy to read. (Makes a great gift!)
outstanding
I have read hundreds of books on prophecy through the years. Two books have stood out as basic, logical, interesting and foundational for the student seriously interested in Biblical Prophecy. One is "Maranatha" by Renald Showers: a detailed study of the Rapture. The other is this book by Arnold Fruchtenbaum. You may find some statements almost shocking, but on close study,I believe Dr.Fruchtenbaum is correct.I only disagreed with about one per cent of the conclusions. This is a "must have" book for the serious student. My only criticism is that extensive scripture is quoted throughout the book and the verses are not numbered individually. The last one fourth of the book probably could have been ommited.
