He can't sleep without it...
My dog loooooooves this toy. I can say my pup has a lot of different toys which I tend to rotate so he does not get bored of them, but he will not let me leave him without this one. He actually takes it to sleep with in his crate. When he moves form one area to another of the house, he will take this toy to the place he wants to be in, and then go back and take any other he wants to play with. Generally he puts the toy near his chest (when beating) and plays with his other toys. I can't say it really "calms" him, but I can affirm that he enjoys the sound of the heartbeat.

Good for other purpose
My puppy had a hard time being left alone when we first got him at 9 weeks. I bought the heart beat pillow to try to help with the separation anxiety. When I got it in the mail and gave it to him, he loved it... but more because he was having fun attacking the pillow to try to get to the sound. It keeps him busy and helps with his biting, even though it is not meant to be a chew toy. I think its worth trying for your pup... you never know what they will like it for, but I'm sure they'll like it!

A puppy owner's dream
The heartbeat pillow saved me during the first week after I brought my 7 week old Shih tzu home. It calmed her down and made her feel secure. At first I had to turn it on for her, but now she is stepping on it to turn on the heartbeat. Wonderful product!
