Works with Intel Mac Mini just fine!5
A close lightning strike recently destroyed the gigabit Ethernet port on our Intel Mac Mini. Bought this hoping to keep fairly good performance (though I haven't definitively tested it, and USB 2.0 only provides about 1/2 of the original performance in the best case). This adapter worked right out of the box. Also worked for Windows/XP on the same Mac Mini, but I needed to put in the (included) CD so it could load the drivers.

Works sometimes on Mac3
This did indeed work out of the box for me. I never measured performance, but it did seem to be operating at gigabit speeds.

The problem was that after a while it would stop working. Unplugging the adapter and plugging it in always got it working again.

Apparently this is the USB-0201, which Level1 claims to support only for Windows. They say there's a chipset driver that would handle it, but I didn't want to add low level stuff to my machine. (At least their tech support was reasonable.)

There's also a USB-0202 which Level 1 says is 100% Mac supported. It's white (not sure it's available via Amazon).
