Amazon.com Product Description
A whorled black dial is the defining feature of this handsome watch from Pierre Cardin. Prominently set against the dial are large easy-to-read white Roman numerals and slender sword-shaped hands. A smooth stainless steel case and textured black leather band with buckle clasp finish out this watch's bold, elegant look. A date calendar sits at the six o'clock position to add functionality and its automatic movement and mineral window add reliability. It is water resistant to 99 feet.

Perfect watch for the price4
This Pierre Cardin Automatic watch is by far one of the most impressive deals I've found in awhile. The company is very popular for it's suits, ties, etc. I was actually surprised to see it was offering watches now under it's moniker.

I used to collect automatic watches for a brief time, and am honestly very familiar with various qualities going into a cheap watch vs. A well constructed one. First, the casing is a VERY solid stainless steel. I've seen more than enough lower end stainless steel watches dent and chip from minor abuse. This doesn't feel to be the case. The overall diamater of the body is 44mm. This is rather large compared to most chronographs, and "big face" watches in the $200-$300 range(Seiko and Citizen), which normally stop at about 42mm. Be warned, if you're looking for a smaller faced classic design, this might not be it. The roman numerals are flast, but slightly raised like on a business card. The face has a very subtle spiraling design simular to much higher end watches. The watchband measures 20mm, again, very thick compared to most other watches within the price range. The band appears to replicate crocodile skin, but on closer inspecting is just pressed leather.

Overall, this is a good quality watch for it's price. With that being said, don't expect it to hold up Breitling or Tissot. With the "automatique" function and solid design, I'd compare this with moderately priced Citizen Eco-Drives.

The reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 star rating is the "made in china" stamp on the back. I have had hit and miss luck with watches made in china. I much prefer japanese movement in the least. The markings on the back of this watch make me second guess the life expectancy of this timepiece. But for now, it's definately proved for a good investment.

Pros:
Solid Construction
Mineral Glass
Very highly detailed
Contemporary "Cartier" style

Cons:
Leather band attempting to look lizzard kinda appears lower quality than seems

Looks good - works well!4
Yes, the watch is made in China. Despite that, it's a reliable watch that keeps good time - and that despite the fact that I'm pretty hard on watches. The date is a bitr hard to read at 6:00, but if you need to know, you can look closely. The face is eye-catching, and the lugs are nicely designed. All-in-all, it's been a watch that I wear often and like having on my wrist.
