Edward Reed is a unique artist who delights in the old-school masters of pin-up like Vargas, Elvgren and Petty, yet he has a fascination for photo-realism that borders on the surreal. He has the practiced ease of an expert when it comes to real-world airbrushing, yet has no difficulty bringing that talent to a computer screen. Whether analog or digital, the finished illustration is what's important, and Reed brings outstanding style and beauty to all his creations. His women are classic in form yet modern in sensibility - just the right mix for a 21st Century pin-up artist! This first collection of this works - Portraits & Pin-Ups, is well named, as it showcases both his serious and fun sides to an appreciative audience. Also an in-demand instructor, Edward has assembled a fascinating step-by-step to show how he creates such intricate and amazing masterworks.

The Art of Edward Reed
This is a beautifully printed book with beautiful pin-up art.
Edward Reed's style is reminiscent of the great pin-up artist of the golden age. His retro, vintage style is wonderful and his modern pin-ups are just as good. You'll find beautiful sexy women, playful pin-ups and mermaids with a new edge. Great work!
Amazing artworks
Edward Reed is truely one the best pin-up artists there is. His style is so reminiscent of Vargas and Petty of the classic pin-up age. His digital creations are so photo-realistic it is hard to believe the level of detail and beauty. Amazing work and imagination and I look forward to seeing more from him in the future!
Art or photographic art?
I was expecting to see 100% photographic images of beautiful women. The truth is the word "Art" in the title should have been the clue that there would be drawings. If you like both kinds of pinups, this little book can add to your collection. You just won't find images like the cover on every page. I like Mr. Reed's art. I come back to leaf through the book from time to time because of curiosity. The cover alone though is worth the price of the book.
