I've never disliked a book written by Dawkins, but I wouldn't recommend this book to everyone. It is his shortest book yet and it is by no means foundational. If you're looking for a cursory glance at Dawkins' ideas, this might be what you're looking for. Otherwise, pick up one of his more important works.

Some people think the big names in science have received more than their share of the credit for human knowledge. If you're one of these people, you probably won't like this book. It is as much biography of these memorable individuals as an explanation of what it is they discovered (or are said to have discovered).

The first half of this book (a bio) is worth reading; the second half (the author's speculations about Paine's influence in the world after his death), not so much.

A great collection of bits and pieces by famous atheist/agnostic/other writers and thinkers. I found myself reading several of them multiple times (for example, Ingersoll's "God in the Constitution"). It has an identical setup to Christopher Hitchens' 'Portable Atheist'.

It's funny, but if you've heard the radio show and/or the podcasts, save your money. The whole thing is essentially a "greatest hits" from these projects (i.e. transcripts). There is a smattering of original material by Karl, but it's hardly worth $15.
