Amazon.com Product Description
Polished to a mirror finish, this 1-1/2-quart Chef's Classic covered saucepan draws as much attention for its striking appearance as its cooking proficiency. Fortunately for home chefs, it handles both with equal aplomb. Use it to simmer sauces, braise, or reheat soup. The pan's 18/10 stainless-steel exteriors surround an aluminum core to ensure even heating on the pan's bottom and up the sides. Befitting a pan with polished surfaces, the stainless coating doesn't react with acidic foods that might otherwise stain the bottom. The saucepan also includes a stainless-steel looped handle that remains cool on the stovetop, in addition to a stainless lid that fits snugly inside the pan's tapered rims (for drip-free pouring). Cuisinart's Chef's Classic cookware is dishwasher-safe and oven-safe to 550 degrees F, and features a limited lifetime warranty.

I couldn't believe the price!5
So, I'm a poor graduate student and can pretty much afford nothing, including nice cookware. When I bought this saucepan for just a few bucks, I expected the sort of crap I've been cooking in my entire life. But, oh my, was I in for a surprise!

I've never touched "professional cookware" before, but this saucepan is definitely it. Fairly heavy, for starters, feels like a nice piece of equipment in your hand. The handle is very impressive - secured on with bolts, not glue, shaped nicely, fairly long, and remains fairly cool during cooking. Same with the handle on the lid. The bottom of the pan is specially processed for even heat distribution, and when the pan arrives, it will be the shiniest piece of cookware in your kitchen.

This pan is pretty small, so I would recommend it for the following uses: making oatmeal or cream of wheat for one, making one of those "pasta with sauce from a box" for one, boiling 1/2 lb of vegetables, boiling a few eggs, heating pasta sauce, etc.

Overall, this pot seems to me to be of highest quality and I think it will last me a really long time.

Awesome Price, Awesome Product5
Cuisinart Classic Stainless is the next best thing to All-Clad that you can get according to Cook's Illustrated (makers of the PBS show America's Test Kitchen). They're very beautiful, shiny, heavy, and best of all---- they perform wonderfully. They hold a simmer very well, and my food doesn't burn.

Most of the Cuisinart Classic Stainless pots and pans go for WELL OVER $100 EACH at stores like Bed, Bath, and Beyond as well as Linens 'n Things. Buy these at Amazon! I was delighted to see most prices from Amazon were between $20-40 instead of $120-150 at the other stores. Then consider no tax, no shipping costs.... what a bargain!

I love the Cuisinart Chef's Classic line..5
I have just about every piece in this line and I love it..the pans all cook evenly and with less heat than any other cookware I've used. Keeping it shiny and beautiful is easy..just follow the instructions that come with it. A little bit of white vinegar after washing keeps it sparkling. I don't have a dishwasher and it's easy to clean. The ONLY drawback is that you have to use a towel of pot holder to lift the lid when they're on the stovetop because they get hot. I've recommended it to friends and they love it, too. You can go from stove to oventop. It's very versatile. Buy it! You can't beat this price.
