About Planet Bike
In November of 1996, Planet Bike was founded in Madison, Wisconsin. In many ways, Planet Bike began as a social experiment that dedicated itself to doing business in a different way. Instead of being just another company that develops and sells products with profit as its end goal, Planet Bike wanted to help bring about positive change for people, their communities, and the environment.
Despite being a simple machine, the people at Planet Bike have always believed that the bicycle has great potential to help improve the world and the lives of the people in it. From the start, they have embraced an alternative corporate purpose which seeks to help get more people on bicycles by making communities friendlier places for the self-propelled. By donating 25% of company profits to causes that promote and facilitate bicycle usage, Planet Bike hopes to make an impact.
Social experiments aside, Planet Bike was born from the heart of a cyclist with a goal of making innovative, high quality, and practical bicycle accessories. Simply put, they strive to design and develop the best bicycle products in the world. In the company's short ten year history, they have made important product innovations within the bicycle industry. Advancements include the 4-line computer which is now a standard in the industry and the world's first self-contained HID light. Not bad for a company that ten years ago started as a one man operation. Today, while still a small company, Planet Bike continues to evolve and improve their product line with the goal of always striving to build accessories that make it easier for people to ride their bikes. Since 1996, Planet Bike's financial support of the grassroots bicycle movement has totaled $500,000. By 2010, they have made a goal to donate $1 million to organizations that are dedicated to making America a friendlier place for cyclists.

Exactly what I was looking for...
Update 06-27-09: Still wokring great.
I am building up a medium duty commuter e-bike. Wanted to avoid that dirty stripe down my clothes or wet legs if I get caught by wet roads. Hey - the Dutch folks know how to use a bike... Racks, baskets, fenders, etc...
These fenders fit my the back of Trek 4300 mtn bike perfectly. All the necessary mounting holes and bolts already existed for the rear fender. Removed the back wheel and it was done in 10 mins. Bolts included in the kit threaded into my bike frame perfectly. I did need to shorten a couple of bolts. Go to the hardware store or use a hacksaw. I used my DeWalt angle grinder...
The Trek did not have any of the mounting holes for the front fender. I ended up zip tying the bottom supports to the bottom inside of the fork tubes. I'll look for some rubber lined pipe clamps at the hardware store. Should be the perfect solution if the hardware store has the right pipe clamps. The top mounting bolt was easily added with a drill to the "horseshoe" that makes both sides of the fork work together.
Width was perfect to clear the stock 26" and wide mtn bike offroad tires. Will switch to wide smooth side tires more suited for street use as I install the rear e-bike motor/rim and my spare front rim. When I turn hard sometimes the fenders flex a little and the sidewall tire cleats do rub the fender support wires but no damages and just an annoying rumbling sound. The fenders do flex alot. Metal would be stiffer but heavier, bend-able, and potentially rust.
Looks like I could remove these fenders in another 10 mins to go hit the trails if I wanted. VERY adjustable.
Bike is very functional and looks great with a combination of yellow frame, black cargo frame, black wheels and handle bars, and the black fenders.
Next - mounting the e-bike components...
Great Fenders!
These fenders took a bit of engineering to fit properly, but once installed they look like they will work well. They cover a 700 x 42C tire with room to spare.
Great customer service
Fenders didn't fit my bike...I returned them and was very impressed with the prompt, courteous customer service...would buy from again without hesitation!
