A MUST!
Like most of the books in this series: wood, metal, ceramics, glass... it's a great reference and has been updated from the previous version (Plastics) to include newer materials. In fact it has a section dedicated to environmentally friendly plastics. This area is constently evolving though, so I'm sure by the time it's been published countless polymers will have been discovered.
Yet, this book illustrates well the different applications plastic can have, and I love the fact sheets, which make it easy and quick to find the pros and cons of each material.
Highly recommended to anyone interested in plastics as a material, and especially to product, furniture and toy designers!
