Customer Reviews

Great light pack5
I did a lot of research before purchasing a lightweight pack and it really worked well for me on a two-day hike (I had also been considering the Osprey Atmos but wanted something smaller). The support was quite good and though I had worried about the strain on my shoulders, I shouldn't have with this pack. Also, Altrec is a great store and I received the pack shockingly fast.

My First Multi Day Pack5
This was my first multi day pack and from the moment I tried it on, I was convinced this was one of the top packs in its capacity class. I had tried on other packs from Gregory, The North Face, Go Lite and both the Gregory and North Face products feel stiff and akward on your back. They feel as if they stick into your back instead of conforming. And it wasn't just one model by each brand, it was numerous packs in the 2500cu range. I can't say a bad thing about Go Lite.

The Talon stood out for a few reasons over the rest. Once on your back, it felt natural, it felt light, and the shoulder straps and hip belt didn't have that digging in feeling to them. The craftmanship, quality of material, and attention to detail by the manufacturer is apparent right from the start.

It had enough room for a 4 day backpacking trip and I could of probably been fine for another 4. I Highly recommend this pack.

Stunning piece of kit5
This pack is featherlight, and fits better than any I've previously owned. The shoulder straps 'fit' better than I imagined possible. Much better than the harsh nylon weave stuffed with foam typically found on packs in this range. The hipbelt design is also just 'right'.

Bottom line: This is a featherlight pack you can wear all day without any effort. There are more than enough adjustments to make it fit perfectly. The pockets are in the right places and are just the right sizes. All round its hard to imaging how you could improve this - and when it comes to this kinda thing I'm normally picky to the point of being really infuriating!

If you are buying this pack on-line (without seeing it in shop) you should be aware that its lightweight means it doesn't feel 'robust'. I don't mean anything feels cheap, or poorly made, or that cheap materials were used. Far from it. I mean buckles and straps are much thinner/smaller than you might be used to, or expect. Thick webbing straps with lots of padding weight a lot! Once you get over the fact that this pack 'looks' kinda flimsy, and you try it on, you will quickly realize that a) its really well designed and b) its so comfortable you won't care if it looks like it might not stand up to significant abuse!

Possibly not the best pack for lugging your books to school....but, the clear winner when it comes to lugging some food, water and warm clothes on a hike.

My only concern is that by the time I loose or break mine, the company won't still be making them, and I'll have to replace it with something inferior!
