This adorable companion is perfect for children who are afraid of the dark. Nine inches long, it has a squeezable body (dressed in cute pjs) and a large, friendly, glowing face. With the slightest hug, the little guy glows (with the help of a battery pack hidden in the doll's body). The more the child squeezes, the more he shines. The battery pack is child-resistant--and proves a bit adult-resistant, too, as it takes some fiddling to unscrew and open. Surface is washable. Gloworm is more fun for kids over a year old
I bought the Gloworm as a gift for my two 8 mo. nieces (The product description claims it is appropriate for 6 mo. to 2 years). After fumbling around a bit to get the batteries installed (it is slightly difficult, but kid-proof once you get the batteries in), both were promptly snatched by my 2 1/2 year and 3 year nieces. They could press the "glow" feature - the infants could not. It turned into a great toy for the older girls to play with the younger ones - all of whom thoroughly enjoyed it.

Children over a year old will have fun with this toy and I suspect that it will be a cherished possession well past 2 years (at least their uncle hope so!).

great nightlite
This toy can stand to be beat and then cleaned and it will still work. My daughter can not go to bed without her gloworm beside her in her crib.

baby's personal nite-lite
Babies and young toddlers can easily cuddle this toy and carry it around. My one-year old loves to hug it--and that makes it light up! When I check baby during the night, I squeeze it and the soft light lets me see where all the blankets have scattered. Love the easy care, too. If you follow manufacturers instructions and remove the battery/light assembly, the toy can be machine washed and dried inside a pillowcase.
