In today’s ultracompetitive job market, project management is a critical skill for any business professional. Yet there is a lack of formal training for project management, and most people learn their skills through trial and error.
In Finish What You Start: 10 Surefire Ways to Deliver Your Project On Time and On Budget, author Michael J. Cunningham will reveal how to carefully balance the three critical factors of all projects—time, money, and resources—to deliver projects on schedule and on budget.
In addition to the primary fundamentals, Finish What You Start reveals key strategic tactics resulting in a more successful project and manager.

Customer Reviews
The title isn't what the book is about
As a new project manager I bought this book for a couple of reasons. One the interesting title ("Finish What You Start" and the subtitle (10 Surefire ways...). However I was disappointed to find the book did not hammer away at either of these ideas in a systematic way that I was expecting.
There is some useful advice in the book. One that comes to mind is getting
tasks started simultaneously and the earlier the better whenever possible. I thought the book was padded a bit by the example projects that the author had worked on. I found them boring and a labor to get through. There is a nice summary of advice in the last chapter that is worth reading and re-reading. They might even be the "ten surefire ways" that the subtitle refers to.
Great Tool!
Michael Cunningham has done a terrific job breaking down project management into a simplified, usable manner--unlike many others who overcomplicate the process. I am a beginner project manager for a corporate executive, and he reccommended this book as a helpful tool. Finish What You Start will show you step by step how to turn a mess of deadlines, people running loose, and a draining budget into a perfectly controlled masterpiece--you can do it!
Extremely Helpful Book for all projects - Michele
This was an easy read. Helpful in the workplace, and for all projects and I think applicable to all ages. This book is full of solid advice and information that was easy to follow.
