Rubber's Lover
A powerful and secretive corporation is conducting underground psychic experiments utilizing Digital Direct Drive, otherwise known as DDD. While under the influence of the drug ether, the human subjects are outfitted in rubber suits and bombarded with DDD with extremely intense sound. Though the experiments are successful in unleashing psychic powers in the test subjects, the results are usually fatal. As a result, the corporation attempts to shut down the experiments against the wishes of Motomiya and Hitotsubashi who are in charge of the research. In a desperate attempt to salvage their work, the two researchers take over the lab and hold an innocent secretary hostage while they transform their fellow researcher into an ether addict and use him as the final human guinea pig for their experiments. The result has to be seen to be believed as his psychic powers are unleashed in a wave of ferocity that will leave you breathless.
Pinocchio 964

Wandering around Japan, Pinocchio finds Kyoko, another amnesiac with a horrible secret to her own memory loss. Together they try to piece their lives and live in a world where memory is no longer needed. At the same time, Pinocchio's fiendish architect and master is desperately trying to find his lost prototype before the world finds him. Mad Science Galore
Pinocchio 964 (3.5 stars out of 5)
*Wow. This film is very vivid, with lots of unique camera angles and extreme close-ups. It's also a very weird story, loaded with violence, sex, and gross stuff. Some parts are so strange that they hardly make sense (like the ending, or the part where the girl turns crazy for no apparent reason). The acting is extreme; character seem to scream and shout a lot. It can all be seen as either artistic or hilariously dumb. In any case, if you can stomach the gross stuff, it's interesting.
*The movie is in color. It has a fullscreen presentation. It has pretty good video/sound quality, but is only in Japanese (with English subtitles). Extras include a short film (I forget what the title is), an interview, and one or two trailers.
Rubber's Lover (3.5 stars out of 5)
*Once again, wow. This is also a very vivid film; possibly more visually awesome than the above. But, it makes even less sense and is still incredibly gross. Once again, it can be seen as either artistic or hilariously dumb. But if you don't mind some blood and perversity, it would make for a fun horror/sci-fi flick.
*The movie is in black-and-white, and is in fullscreen. It has pretty good video/sound quality, but is only in Japanese (with English subtitles). Extras include a short film (I forget what the title is), an interview, and one or two trailers.
Both of these films are incredibly weird and gross, but are visually excellent. It's almost the case where style superscedes substance (especially when the substance doesn't make much sense to begin with). I think they're a lot of fun, but if you're squeamish, or are looking for a good coherent movie, you might want to stay away from these films.
Both of these films were essentially wrapped together with a paper cover plastered on it. It's not a box or double feature or anything; it's just two separate DVDs slapped together.
