The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition)The Lord of the Rings - The Motion Picture Trilogy (Platinum Series Special Extended Edition)
Buy used from: $45.39
Another great set, that is perfect for its very own movie marathon. I generally pull out "The Fellowship of the Ring" to rewatch more than the others.
Lethal Weapon - The Complete SeriesLethal Weapon - The Complete Series
Buy new: $38.99 / Used from: $11.18
I enjoy escaping and having a "Mel Gibson" marathon - and what's better than the Lethal Weapon franchise. You get to see Mel at some of his best, not to mention some of his best parts.
Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc)Star Wars Trilogy (Widescreen Edition with Bonus Disc)
Buy used from: $16.99
I'm sure that Master Lucas will come out with a complete saga set, but for now the original trilogy is my favorite for a marathon.
Indiana Jones - The Complete Adventure Collection (Raiders of the Lost Ark/ Temple of Doom/ Last Crusade/ Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)Indiana Jones - The Complete Adventure Collection (Raiders of the Lost Ark/ Temple of Doom/ Last Crusade/ Kingdom of the Crystal Skull)
Buy new: $49.99 / Used from: $30.18
Watching Dr Jones search for treasures and artifacts... I can think of worse ways to spend an evening. Harrison Ford is excellent as the adverturer Indiana Jones. The movies are exciting, action-packed, lovable and just "all around" fun. Enjoy!!!
Star Wars Prequel TrilogyStar Wars Prequel Trilogy
Buy new: $28.99 / Used from: $26.82
Although the original trilogy is my favorite, occassionally I have to go to the very beginning. I'm more partial to the "Attack of the Clones" episode.
Star Trek: The Motion Pictures DVD Collection (Motion Picture/ Wrath of Khan/ Search for Spock/ Voyage Home/ Final Frontier/ Undiscovered Country/ Generations/ First Contact/ Insurrection/ Nemesis)Star Trek: The Motion Pictures DVD Collection (Motion Picture/ Wrath of Khan/ Search for Spock/ Voyage Home/ Final Frontier/ Undiscovered Country/ Generations/ First Contact/ Insurrection/ Nemesis)
Buy used from: $119.00
This is a whole holiday weekend worth of films; and if your a try Star Trek fan, you've done this many times over. For smaller marathons - I'll just pick "Wrath of Khan," "First Contact," "Voyage Home," and then close my eyes to pick one of what's left.
Alien Quadrilogy (Alien/ Aliens /Alien 3 /Alien Resurrection)Alien Quadrilogy (Alien/ Aliens /Alien 3 /Alien Resurrection)
Buy new: $42.99 / Used from: $19.49
This set alone can make for a great all-nighter. For a perfect marathon, I choose Alien and Aliens and then move on to others.
Scream Trilogy - Boxed SetScream Trilogy - Boxed Set
Buy used from: $11.95
These somewhat scary, slightly suspenseful, yet all-around fun movies are great for a late-night movie marathon. They aren't scary enough to give you nightmares, but they're fun and suspenseful enough to make the evening exciting. Wes Craven is one of the best and these are probably some of his best.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Skynet Edition) [Blu-ray]Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Skynet Edition) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $13.74
For a mini marathon, I'd choose all three of the Terminator films; however, this one is probably my favorite.
The Terminator [Blu-ray]The Terminator [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $9.99 / Used from: $8.79
You can't go wrong if you include this one in a movie marathon.
Lara Croft - Tomb Raider / Lara Croft - Tomb Raider, The Cradle of LifeLara Croft - Tomb Raider / Lara Croft - Tomb Raider, The Cradle of Life
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $4.75
Lara Croft Tomb Raider... Probably one of the best converts of game to movie. Angeline Jolie is great as the thrill-seeking Lara Croft. A perfect get-away for a mini marathon.
Resident Evil - The High-Definition Trilogy (Resident Evil/ Resident Evil: Apocalypse/ Resident Evil: Extinction) [Blu-ray]Resident Evil - The High-Definition Trilogy (Resident Evil/ Resident Evil: Apocalypse/ Resident Evil: Extinction) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $47.49 / Used from: $34.34
I really like these flicks. Not winning any Oscars, but a great trilogy to get lost in over a short weekend. Milla kicks some serious butt in these!
