Save your money!!3
I am a union framer in the Chicago area. I bought this thinking that for $26 dollars, maybe someone has FINALLY made a decent chalk box. Wrong! Although it's not a bad product, it surely is no better than the $10 dollar boxes out there.

The good, 1)Looks cool... before the fancy paint job started flacking off in a couple months 2)The fill cap seals very tight with minimal chalk loss when you run the line out 3)The line lock works well, but who really uses that?

The bad, 1)The line has broke NUMEROUS times (I have not exposed this line to wet conditions either) 2)The line also reels in no smoother or quicker that any other 3 to 1 gear ratio box out there 3)The hook, while nice, always seems to cover my pencil marks when I go to snap lines due to its larger than average size (this is more of an annoyance than you might think)! 4)WAY to much flex in the line for my taste 5)String only holds enough chalk for 3-4 snaps before you have to wind it back up

Bottom line is although its not a bad chalk line, it's $26 dollars and not any better than a $10 box. I'm all for spending more money on tools that truly are "the best", but this isn't one of them!

best chalk line ever5
it has lasted 7months so far of every day use. every one on my crew always wants to use it. it now need a new line in it. the union framer that didnot like this line must be retarted

Who's a retard?5
I'm also a union framer out of Cleveland I think think this chalk box is great,I've found that the tajima brand chalk does stay on the line much longer than the more course name brands you may find in home centers and hardware stores. My only regret in buying it is that unfoutunatly it is made in China.
By the way Travis you may want to check your grammer and spelling before you call someone a retard.Of course scabs don't have to be educated to run work.
