predicts ovulation accurately
I bought this to try to get pregnant. Quite simple to use, easy to clean, easy to read results. You need about five minutes to take this test. Every morning you put a dab of saliva (making sure the saliva has no bubbles) on the microscope and let it dry. Pop the scope back into the lens and press the light. You can immediately see a fernlike pattern if you are ovulating. I am happy to report I conceived the second month I was using this product.

How to know you are NOT ovulating! (at least, not properly)

Every once in a while I had so-called "confusing results", however, it turned out that it was not a defect of a device - it means just the opposite: MaybeMOM dit it's job PERFECTLY. Based on my personal experience, I can tell you this: if you do not see you results clearly, or if they appear "confusing", you do not see a distinct ferning pattern, it means that your ovulation did not reach it's peak. If it happens more then during one cycle, you should go to your OBGYN and/or endocrinologist and check yourself - your hormonal levels may be off, and it may be a sign of medical problem. Also, after a certain age women do not necessarily ovulate each month - some times you can only ovulate twice a year, or even less!!! So if you did not see a distinctive ferning pattern, it only means that you DID NOT OVULATE fully! Before you get dissapointed in the product, please make sure you read the instructions, do research on product vendor's site. I tried them all, and MaybeMOM is the best.

Fascinatingly easy
After my initial "how the heck does this thing work" ignorance, I've decided that this is a great product. Not to knock amazon, but I purchased mine at Walgreens on sale for $24. The instructions are very easy to follow. It does however take at least 5 minutes for your saliva to dry on the "optical piece". And the important thing to remember is that it IS a microscope so put it directly in front of your eye like a microscope. And of course adjust the focus up and down until you can see something like the pictures in the instructions guide. And I hate how they call the so-called ovulation results "ferning" I think it should be called "crystallization" or "crystal structures" but that could just be me. Also I really like the lipstick case with mirror included.
