STOP DO NOT BUY!
The tongue stud is rubber (ish?). Albeit, a piece of junk. The clamp, or "little miniature rubber o-ring" does not keep the stud in your tongue whatsoever! I lost one o-ring when sanitizing, then I swallowed the second one after taking a bite of a sandwich. There are many other products out there that are better and actually useful. Don't waste your money this holiday season, shop around.

Work hasn't seen it. I put a ball on the bottom to secure it better

the tongue ring retainer was completely clear and fairly easy to put in. It had a very small ring to slide over the stud though.
