Sheds!!
This wig is "ok". It is cute when you wear it with the actual Ariel mermaid costume. The wig doesnt stay on the childs head well. It is a cheap made wig, with terrible fake hair that turns into one big knot! It "sheds" a lot too.
If you really want an ariel wig, give it a try, its not the worst either.
I had to put a ponytail holder on it to keep it out of my daughters face...it's a bit wild!!
It serves its purpose
I got this wig to go with my daughter's Ariel Costume for Halloween. The wig came in a big mess because it is packaged in a ball. After spending quite a while combing it out - I had to then bobby pin the entire front because otherwise she would have looked like "Cousin It". My daughter liked the idea of the wig but didn't really like wearing it - she kept telling me that it was itchy. It also kept falling off because I had to bobby pin the front so much that the back became heavy. All-in all I would give this 3 stars because it serves its purpose in adding detail to any Ariel Costume - but at the same time, we are probably going to toss it because I can't see my daughter tolerating it while playing dress up.
Kind of ratty, and too small!
My daughter was Ariel for Halloween. I tried hard to talk her into a red-haired adult wig (with the thought that it might be better quality and we'd be able to reuse it someday,) but she REALLY wanted the bright-red Ariel wig. I was concerned about quality, but we purchased it. Sure enough, it came out of the package pretty knotted and ratty, with strange bends and twists in the hair from packaging. Of course, because of the quality of the fake hair used, it was impossible to brush or curl the hair to make it a little more presentable. In fact, brushing it just seemed to make it worse, and I didn't dare try curling it in case the plastic hair melted!
To be fair, my daughter was so excited to be Ariel that she didn't really care about the quality of the hair. She did find it very, very hard to put on, and the headpiece was so small that it didn't seem to fit her head completely (she is 6.) I guess it is maybe geared towards younger children, as we had a lot of trouble keeping it on her head throughout 2 hours of party time or trick-or-treating.
I think we would have done better to just spray paint her hair neon red. On the whole, I was very disappointed.
