About the Author
Catheleen Jordan (PhD, University of California at Berkley; MSSW, University of Texas at Arlington) is professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, School of Social Work. She is chair of the direct practice sequence and clinical supervisor in the School of Social Work Community Service Clinic. Professor Jordan teaches direct practice, family therapy, and philosophy of science. Her teaching and research interests include child and family treatment, work life issues, and program evaluation.

Cynthia Franklin (PhD, MSSW, University of Texas at Arlington) is professor at the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work where she chairs the clinical concentration. Professor Franklin teaches courses on practice theories, family therapy, and research methods at doctoral levels. She specializes in clinical practice with children and families and is known for her expertise in social work and practice research integration. Professor Franklin has numerous publications on school social work practice, clinical assessment, the effectiveness of solution-focused therapy in school settings, and adolescent pregnancy prevention.
