...the only comprehensive guidebook in any language, to Guadalajara, the celebrated "Most Mexican of Cities." --Travel Video Television News, Dec 14, 2008

About the Author
Bruce Whipperman has always pursued his travel career for the fun of it. He started with slide shows and photo gifts for friends. Others wanted his photos, so he began selling them. Once, stranded in Ethiopia, he began to write. A dozen years later, after scores of magazine and newspaper feature stories, Moon Pacific Mexico became his first book, and Moon Handbooks to Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Acapulco, Ixtapa & Zihuatanejo followed. With his family grown, he has been free to let the world's wild, beautiful corners draw him onward: the ice-clawed Karakoram, the Gobi Desert's trellised oases, Rajasthan's pink palaces, Japan's green wine country, Bali's emerald terraces, and Pacific Mexico's palm-shaded beaches, colorful towns, and pinescented highland valleys. For Bruce, travel writing heightens his awareness of the places he visits and helps him focus his own travel experiences. He'll always remember what a Nepali Sherpa once said: "Many people come, looking, looking; few people come, see."

Making sense of a huge foreign metropolis4
Having lived in Guadalajara for four years 35 years ago I knew that the city had grown substantially and I would need a guide book to get around. This book is very complete and up to date, much better than I had expected. I especially like the "Getaways" section that suggests day trips all around the region.

The only book you need5
If you go to Guadalajara, this is the only travel book you need. It provides everything: sightseeing, history details, city maps, daily trips suggestions, places to eat, hotels to stay, and a lot more. Highly recommended!
