Really a neat thing
I don't ordinarily like cluttering knick-knacks, but the two "turtle lights" we got our children a few years ago at deep discount have been among their favorite items. (One had to be taken away because of unauthorized late-night reading...) That the shade is real glass and the frame solid metal is very appealing to the me, and the whimsy works unlike with so many novelties. They are well-made, especially for the price.

The bottom of the lamp is solid cast metal! The lamp is beautiful and the warm amber glow it gives is perfect. Everything about this lamp is solid and well made. I would definitely reccomend this for the turtle lover in your life!!

Loved it so much I am using it for the entire family!
I initially purchased this for our younger son. When it arrived, my then 6 year old was hurt that he didn't get one too since it's so adorable (even though at the time of ordering he said he was too big for a turtle light). So 'turtle' currently sits in our hallway on decor table. I have to say not only is it adorable, it's actually very practicle! I was always replacing night lights to light up our hallway because they kept burning out but now we all rely on 'turtle' to light our way :-). It's great because he doesnt' have that bright night light effect if you are up in the middle of the night checking on the kids or anything, it's a soft glow that doesn't hurt your eyes. I think that this would make a GREAT baby shower or housewarming gift, very unique but practical.
