Low profile filter for 18-135mm lens. A real must!

This would be a good alternative to the 18-135mm lens as your primary lens, but it is pricey. The optics are good, but there is slight barrel distortion below 20mm. Also, when the camera is pointed straight up or down, the zoom tends to creep a little over time. The Vibration Reduction systems is really wonderful and makes a real difference. Do not forget the protection filter!

This polarizing filter will fit the Nikon 18-200 mm lens. As mentioned earlier, polarizing filters are a must for outdoor photography!

Low profile filter for the 80-400MM lens.

A powerful flash with rapid recycle rate is great when you are indoors or at a party. Put the the D80's flash in commander mode and you can trigger this flash off-camera wirelessly!

A spare battery may save the day.

Ni-MH batteries are not only rechargeable, they last 2 or three times longer than alkaline batteries. Use these batteries in your flash or as the spare batteries for the MB-D80 power supply and grip.

The Extreme III series has extremely fast write times and can keep up with the D80's 3 fps exposure rate. Slower cards simply cannot keep up. Also, many SD card readers are not SDHC compatible so 2GB is as large as you can go without a USB SDHC compatible reader. In RAW mode, you can get more than 150 exposures on a 2GB card. Get a couple! :-)

The hight speed car, like all the Sandisk Extreme III card is what you really need for your D80. An 8 GB card will give you more than 600 exposures in RAW mode and thousands of exposures even at the highest quality JPEG settings. I always recommend having at 2 SD cards, but if you are using 8GB cards, I do not think you will need more than 2.

One would think a shoulder pad to be a simple thing. But one look at this pad will give you real appreciation of fine design, workmanship and high quality. More than an inch thick, this pad is perfect and really comfortable.

Now that you have this great SLR system, you realize it is just too bulky to grab and take shots of the kids playing in the back yard, or bring along when you meet some friends. When using the tripod for long exposures or subjects that are difficult to approach, like wildlife, being able to trip the shutter remotely is great. The long cord lets you get more than 16 feet (almost 5 meters) from the camera. This release also features a shutter lock for bulb photography.

While you may need a magnifying glass, this quick reference describes every menu choice and setting available on the D80. With the dizzying number of options and capabilities of that fine camera, it is easy to forget how to do something, where a feature is or even that the camera can do it at all! This will help!
