The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide: Five Complete Novels and One Story (Deluxe Edition)The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide: Five Complete Novels and One Story (Deluxe Edition) by Douglas Adams
Buy new: $19.99 / Used from: $16.00
My favorite book :) Funny, unusual writing style with a lot of amusing analogies that really make this book worth reading.
And Then There Were NoneAnd Then There Were None by Agatha Christie
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
Short mystery/suspence novel, really keeps you guessing until the end.
Till We Have Faces: A Myth RetoldTill We Have Faces: A Myth Retold by C.S. Lewis
Buy new: $11.20 / Used from: $6.99
A must-read. Myth of Cupid and Psyche, it is a very powerful novel about the struggle between love, hate, and power. A vivid look at mythology in all of its glory.
Falling AngelsFalling Angels by Tracy Chevalier
Buy new: $11.20 / Used from: $0.01
Very well written. I started reading it and I didn't really like it cause you just heard a story told by children in diary form. But I couldn't put in down! As the book continues, characters age and the books become a moving story about the women's right to vote movement and the impact of being dedicated to a cause.
The Da Vinci Code (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)The Da Vinci Code (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)
Buy new: $14.99 / Used from: $0.75
This book is the perfect example that just because it's controversial doesn't make it good.
The Shadow of the WindThe Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $0.82
Very good! Beautifully written. I started reading the book nonchalantly while I was waiting for something at my parents house, and I had to borrow it and finish it! It is sort of a sad book, but it is so moving. I would definitively recommend it.
Snow Crash (Bantam Spectra Book)Snow Crash (Bantam Spectra Book) by Neal Stephenson
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $4.98
Excellent book for programmers and computer people. Very fun book to read! Eccentric characters, good action.. Good science fiction for science fiction beginners like me!
The Diamond Age: Or, a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer (Bantam Spectra Book)The Diamond Age: Or, a Young Lady's Illustrated Primer (Bantam Spectra Book) by Neal Stephenson
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $2.95
I read this after Snow Crash since I liked Snow Crash so much. It takes you a little more into the future, with more abstract ideas for new technologies. The whole story was really good and worth reading, but I found end sort of anti-climatic.
Acceptable RiskAcceptable Risk by Robin Cook
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
Medical suspense style that made Cook popular. I don't read many mystery books, but this one was pretty good! Makes you appreciate the FDA :P
The HistorianThe Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Buy new: $10.87 / Used from: $0.01
The development and action in the book is kind of slow, but the description of the characters' travels is amazing. It feels like you are traveling with them. Makes you want to major in history!
Ender's Game (Ender, Book 1)Ender's Game (Ender, Book 1) by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
Excellent book, a classic for science fiction. I'm not sure I feel inclined to read more in the series though.
The Time Traveler's WifeThe Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Buy new: $11.20 / Used from: $1.31
The time traveling aspect is well written and not too confusing (easily could have been messy!). The guy goes through time disoriented and lost, grasping to stay in the present. This is pretty much only a love story though, not much plot about anything else.
The Thin PlaceThe Thin Place by Kathryn Davis
Buy new: $11.19 / Used from: $6.95
You know how they say an infinite number of monkeys typing for an infinite amount of time would almost surely type the complete works of Shakespeare entirely by chance? Well this book is what happens the rest of the time.
American GodsAmerican Gods by Neil Gaiman
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $0.01
Really good book. Brilliant mix of mythology with the modern world, it is very unique. Characters are all a bit quirky and their interactions and relationships are always funny.
Seventh Son (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 1)Seventh Son (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 1) by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.14
This book got my hooked from the start. The life of a family in a "magic" America during colonization. I knew from the start that this book is the first of a series, but I still got sort of deceived that it ends without any closure (abrupt "to be continued" feel to it). Still, I will definitively read the rest of the series!
Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, WitchGood Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $3.32
Really really funny. Humor and writting style very similar to Douglas Adams.
Red Prophet (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 2)Red Prophet (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 2) by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.87
The first half of the book is sort of boring though necessary to set the stage for the second half of the book. The second half is absolutely amazing. Alot of action!
A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy SoldierA Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah
Buy new: $14.96 / Used from: $4.74
This book reads kind of dry. But the story is definitively worth it.
Neverwhere: A NovelNeverwhere: A Novel by Neil Gaiman
Buy new: $11.16 / Used from: $5.24
Excellent. I loved American Gods, but I think this one is possibly even better!
SourcerySourcery by Terry Pratchett
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $3.45
In progress.... Started this book, and it's really funny but a really hard read. Apparently I am too slow, cause Chris stole it from me!
Prentice Alvin (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 3)Prentice Alvin (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 3) by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.25
Good as always. But what is the deal with these horrible covers!
Alvin Journeyman (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 4)Alvin Journeyman (Tales of Alvin Maker, Book 4) by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $6.99 / Used from: $0.01
In Progress - As much as I enjoy the Alvin series, I've got just about enough for a little while - will finish later!
StardustStardust by Neil Gaiman
Buy new: $11.16 / Used from: $6.45
Very good very short book. Almost kid-like fantasy story. Definitively worth it, better than the movie (as it always goes) :P
ZodiacZodiac by Neal Stephenson
Buy new: $11.20 / Used from: $5.85
There is a huge amount of chemistry talk in here! It's pretty interesting and I love the cynicism of the main character, but the story was too hard to follow (it seems to jump a lot) to keep me hooked. Stopped in the middle :(
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Harper Fiction)Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Harper Fiction) by Gregory Maguire
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $2.79
The action slows down consistently through the book, which is a bit of a bummer. But overall, I really liked this book.
The Thirteenth Tale: A NovelThe Thirteenth Tale: A Novel by Diane Setterfield
Buy new: $10.20 / Used from: $5.49
Too boring... The girl is a book keeper, and she keeps talking about great it is to read. I found myself craving "wow, I really want to read a book right now!" except I already was. Not exactly satisfying.
Small GodsSmall Gods by Terry Pratchett
Buy new: $14.45 / Used from: $7.50
Fun reading, like all Terry Pratchett books
Hart's HopeHart's Hope by Orson Scott Card
Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $6.00
Loved this book. It is dark and deeply disturbing by parts (ok, most parts) but a very very active story. Captivating from start to finish.
The long dark tea-time of the soul / Douglas AdamsThe long dark tea-time of the soul / Douglas Adams by Douglas (1952-2001) Adams
Buy used from: $2.88
The story was great, super funny.... but totally hated the ending. Still worth reading? I guess so.

Great book, my favorite author!
MortMort by Terry Pratchett

This book was very entertaining. Death is a hilarious character!
