I loved this book! I carried it back packing around Australia - and its content made up for its weight! I think the most interesting part of this book was how Weir manages to capture all the wives in their own light. She doesn't focus too much one one person, but explains how they all fit into King Henry's line up.

This was the first book I read about the Tudor time period and I haven't looked back since! I still feel like Strakey gives the best overview of Elizabeth's life, and manages to portray her as someone between the innocent and the traitor she is usually depicted as.

Every worried about bears? This is another great Bill Bryson that will make anyone living on the Eastern seaboard chuckle. I can't attest for the rest of the country, but it's amusing to watch Bryson as he battles his fears (and his walking companion) as he attemps to hike the Appalachian Trail.

This is a great book about living in England. Bryson manages to explain an ancient culture in his usual hilarious way. When he talked about how English people have a totally insane sense of distance, I almost died of laughter. Great read!

This is a great book, not to mention beautifully put together. It just gives lots of little tips and hints about dressing and whatnot. A nice little book, maybe as a gift!

I especially liked this book. I think the most interesting part is in the beginning when the author points out that we all have this amazing fantasy about what life was like for a queen. But really, it was pretty awful. Great stories of amazing women!
