![]() | The Life of Elizabeth I by Alison Weir
Buy new: $11.56 / Used from: $1.37 I great overview of Queen Elizabeth. Not my favorite, but one of the best I've read.

![]() | The Six Wives of Henry VIII by Alison Weir
Buy new: $11.53 / Used from: $4.99 I loved this book! I carried it back packing around Australia - and its content made up for its weight! I think the most interesting part of this book was how Weir manages to capture all the wives in their own light. She doesn't focus too much one one person, but explains how they all fit into King Henry's line up.

![]() | The Children of Henry VIII by Alison Weir
Buy new: $10.88 / Used from: $1.95 This is an interesting book that I read after the Six Wives by Allison Weir. I didn't like it as much, but it was nice to hear about the children that resulted from those disasterous marriages.

![]() | Elizabeth: The Struggle for the Throne (P.S.) by David Starkey
Buy new: $13.19 / Used from: $0.01 This was the first book I read about the Tudor time period and I haven't looked back since! I still feel like Strakey gives the best overview of Elizabeth's life, and manages to portray her as someone between the innocent and the traitor she is usually depicted as.

![]() | In a Sunburned Country by Bill Bryson
Buy new: $10.17 / Used from: $0.91 Bill Bryson is, without a doubt, one of the best writers of our time. He has yet to write a book that hasn't made me laugh out loud. This one covers his exploits in Australia. Anyone who doesn't laugh at his train journey obviously has issues.

![]() | A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail by Bill Bryson
Buy new: $7.99 / Used from: $3.73 Every worried about bears? This is another great Bill Bryson that will make anyone living on the Eastern seaboard chuckle. I can't attest for the rest of the country, but it's amusing to watch Bryson as he battles his fears (and his walking companion) as he attemps to hike the Appalachian Trail.

![]() | Shakespeare: The World as Stage (Eminent Lives) by Bill Bryson
Buy new: $10.04 / Used from: $0.99 This is a great little book about Shakespeare. We are all raised learning Shakespeare's works, but the majority of us only know that he was a guy who lived in England. Or many guys, depending on what theory you believe. Anyways, this book is highly factual but Bryson makes it hilarious and easy to read.
|
![]() | Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson
Buy new: $10.19 / Used from: $0.01 This is a great book about living in England. Bryson manages to explain an ancient culture in his usual hilarious way. When he talked about how English people have a totally insane sense of distance, I almost died of laughter. Great read!

![]() | That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between by Victoria Beckham
Buy new: $15.56 / Used from: $3.50 Ok, stick with me here. I know this sounds like a totally shallow book, and it is. But it also has some very interesting points and products tips. If you're a magazine junky like me, you'll enjoy this.
|
![]() | The Little Black Book of Style by Nina Garcia
Buy new: $14.39 / Used from: $5.89 This is a great book, not to mention beautifully put together. It just gives lots of little tips and hints about dressing and whatnot. A nice little book, maybe as a gift!

![]() | Sex with Kings: 500 Years of Adultery, Power, Rivalry, and Revenge (P.S.) by Eleanor Herman
Buy new: $10.04 / Used from: $0.01 This is a great series - even though it sounds kind of odd! A really great overview of past (and present) royalty and their many, many affairs. It's kind of like reading a trashy magazine about people who lived hundreds of years ago!
|
![]() | Sex with the Queen: 900 Years of Vile Kings, Virile Lovers, and Passionate Politics (P.S.) by Eleanor Herman
Buy new: $10.04 / Used from: $2.99 I especially liked this book. I think the most interesting part is in the beginning when the author points out that we all have this amazing fantasy about what life was like for a queen. But really, it was pretty awful. Great stories of amazing women!

![]() | The Vegetable Gardener's Bible: Discover Ed's High-Yield W-O-R-D System for All North American Gardening Regions
Buy new: $15.72 / Used from: $13.34 Ok, this may seem kind of random. But I actually read this book during the endless New England winters and dream of the type of garden I'd have if I didn't forget about it halfway through the summer...
