Customer Reviews

It's like punk, except it's snack mix!4
One of those things I've never seen in a supermarket (okay, I wasn't exactly looking), but since I like gorging on junk food while watching Kiefer Sutherland torture people on "24," I just had to have some. I got a large box filled with 2-serving bags of Robert's Ameerican Gourmet's latest creation, which is their take on snack mix. It's about fifty percent pretzels and fifty percent whatever they had lying around--i.e. random bits 'n' pieces of their other products. Hence, "Chaos." Don't be fooled by the sandal-clad hippie cartoon on the bag, 'cause this is totally punk! Why? It's called "Chaos"! Hey, if any fresh scrubbed caffeine-addled mama's boys hopping around on "TRL" can be punk, why not snacks?

In case you were just dying to know, each 2-serving bag has 140 calories and 6 grams of fat (1 gram saturated) per serving. Now start munching!

(Review update for 5/2/06: I bought another shipment of Chaos and discovered the pretzels were almost gone. The mix is now made up of tortilla chips--both yellow and blue corn as well as nacho cheese--potato puffs, fried cheese curls, just a few pretzels and other random things I'm probably forgetting about. Chaos is still totally punk, however, and Kiefer Sutherland is still torturing terrorists and saving the world. Tasty!)

Multiple unsealed packages and damaged items3
I have never written a review before, but felt compelled to do so after receiving this item in an unsatisfactory condition. I enjoy Chaos and have nothing but good things to say about the product. In fact, I'd rate the PRODUCT with "5 stars," but I'd rate my EXPERIENCE with Amazon's shipping, quality assurance, and customer service with "1 star," so I gave an average of "3 stars" for this review.

When I received my shipment, over a dozen of the 24 bags arrived unsealed (perhaps not enough adhesive on the bag?) As a result, the product arrived stale, with loose pieces of Chaos all over the box. Some of the bags seemed to be damaged (punctured) from shipping, but I was surprised by how many of the bags were simply unsealed.

Sure, I could return the box for a refund or replacement, but what's the point of ordering groceries online if they arrive in such unsatisfactory condition? Doesn't anyone inspect the quality of the products leaving the warehouse?

Great stuff4
If you're looking to get a taste of a variety of their snacks, this is a good place to start. The 2-ounce bags are a great portable size to toss in your bag, your kid's school lunches, etc. It has a nice blend of pretzels, corn chips, caramel popcorn, smart puffs (their version of crunchy cheetos), and blue chips. Although, in my case, the majority seemed to be mostly pretzels and corn chips. Overall, the flavors are nice and light -- a good balance of sweet and salty by adding the caramel popcorn. And the best snacks in the blend being their caramel popcorn and smart puffs.
