![]() | The Endless Summer II
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $10.99 Arguably one of the best of the modern era or the 90's at least. Captures the pure fun and adventure of surfing before it all went wild with wave runners and internet swell reports. Don't be scared though, no monster waves here.
![]() | Blue Crush/North Shore Double Feature
Buy new: $13.49 / Used from: $8.90 The North Shore is THE best ever. Has it all. Pure 80's. Blue Crush is probably the closest most of us will get to the lineup at Pipeline, so at least it gives an interesting feel for what it might be like out there.

![]() | Big Wednesday

![]() | Back to the Beach
Buy used from: $32.95 Goofy surf movie that reminds me of when I was younger and just discovering surf culture and music. That was in the 80's so all the 60's stuff was making a comeback for a while there.
![]() | In God's Hands
Buy new: $9.95 / Used from: $3.81 Mostly good for its depiction of tow-in big wave surfing just when it was becoming popular. Also has a brief appearance by Brion James (Leon from Blade Runner) as a cargo ship captain. Must've been one of his last films sadly.
![]() | Step into Liquid
Buy new: $14.49 / Used from: $3.88 Cool follow-up to Endless Summer 2 by the director's son Dana Brown. Some human interest bits unrelated to the pro scene (which is actually a breath of fresh air) and has surf in Texas, The Great Lakes, and Vietnam. It's cool that it takes you places where you haven't seen much surfing before. Also has some great tow-in surfing to cap it off.
![]() | Escape from L.A.

![]() | Apocalypse Now - The Complete Dossier (Two-Disc Special Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $16.49 / Used from: $9.49 How could I forget this one?! Like The Clash once sang, "Charlie don't surf..." but probably does now. One of the greatest all-time movies as well.
![]() | Lords of Dogtown (Unrated Extended Cut)
Buy new: $11.99 / Used from: $1.85 Gives a small glimpse of the skaters hitting the surf and being hazed by the older crew. The late Heath Ledger (was also a surfer in real life) has a notable role in this one.
