At one moment you'll be giggling with excitement and then the next sobbing over your heartbroken youth. Harold and Maude is so simple and yet so very philosophical. I think a great part of it really speaks to our souls and what it means to be lonely, shy, in love human. And not to miss the amazing score by Cat Stevens. This film could quite honestly change you life.

Like the novels you read in high school "Donnie Darko" is racked with symbolism and foreshadowing. "Donnie Darko" is about a young man, Donnie, who begins to have visions of a rabbit, Frank, who tells him to do things which ultimately result in a labyrinth of chaos. What could have been "just another teenage high school movie" is a story about time-travel, sacrifice, love, and death.

These 2 films hold a very special place in my heart. The films revolve entirely around the dialogue of the two characters in what can best be described as an intellectual love affair, two people entirely emotionally connected and collaborative. The two meet and discuss life, sex, politics, religion. You become enthralled with the characters and the quick witted, cerebrally charged conversation.

Ginger and Bridgette are two sisters only a year apart, high school outcasts their days revolve around getting back at school bullies and setting the plans for their suicide pact. But when Ginger is bitten by a werewolf, Bridgette must come to terms with her sister "growing up" (so to speak) and must in turn search for a cure. This film is mainly about girlpower, sisterhood, and growing up.

There's something so beautifully subtle and delicately lovely about this film. The way the two primary characters interact and the way their relationship develops is definitely what makes this movie so astonding. At its heart it's about two people who suddenly find themselves together when all else in their lives has failed.

A foreign film, without subtitles. There’s no talking, so its communication lies in the gestures of the characters much like a silent film from the 30s. It is the story of a poolhouse standing on prime real estate in the demolished ruin of a city. The proprietor must fight the city and the town inspector to convince everyone that the house is still in sound condition and worthy to stand.

The first in Chan-Wook Park's revenge trilogy, about a man inprisoned for fifteen years and his race to find his captor after he's released. Very stylized and cool, with an interweaving complex plot and startling finish.

The Polish brother's masterpiece about a town which must be emptied to make way for flooding and the instigation of a hydroelectric dam in the 1930s. The characters are a group of men hired to encourage residents to move, a sick young boy awaiting adoption, and the people the boy imagines. Visually arresting, check this out.
