Ruse provides a summary of what the theory of Darwinian evolution is and defends it from all areas of attack - from religion to philosophy to science. It is quite well written and covers much more than just biology and religion.

Harris delivers an attack on the dangerous of blind faith. Be aware - Harris just doesn't raise the problems of religious fundamentalism - he does more than that. He considers the moderates equally dangerous as they tacitly provide the framework and resources for the fundamentalists.
