From the Back Cover
How many heavens are there—and how many hells? The original biblical languages use several words for heaven and hell that mean different things. And to make matters still more interesting, other religions and philosophies have contributed their own ideas to the mix until it’s hard to separate reality from speculation, falsehood, and folklore. Sense and Nonsense about Heaven and Hell helps you cut through the clutter to see what the Bible really reveals about heaven and hell, salvation and judgment. Learn about • Jesus: the only means of understanding heaven or hell • different biblical words for heaven and hell • the fires of hell: literal or figurative? • why hell has no exit doors • what we can and can’t know about heaven • God’s judgment: who will go where, and why Get ready for some surprises. This book will help you set aside your preconceptions and pierce through the myths and misinformation to gain an accurate, truly biblical perspective on heaven and hell.

Customer Reviews

They convinced me.5
I am a conservative Christian who did his own study on the Biblical view of Hell. I had come to the tentative conclusion that Jesus taught a certain type of Annihilationism (specifically, that those not forgiven of their sins by Jesus went to Hell for a finite period of time, the length dependant upon the severity of their sins, and then simply ceased to exist). I had read multiple books on the subject, and presented my view to multiple scholars. But it was not until I read this book that I was convinced of the faults of my view. They addressed every single one of my objections to the eternity of Hell in a very clear manner. Formal theological education is not necessary to easily follow the arguments in the book. I highly recommend it to anyone who struggles with questions regarding the Biblical view of Heaven and Hell.

Good Interesting Book5
The Book was interesting and had a lot of interesting thoughts quite a number of which I don't believe Christians think about, for example, the difference between "living" and "existing". I certainly will return to it from time to time as a reference for study on some of these subjects.
